"Michael Jackson's This Is It" Dances to the Top of Box Office Weekend! See Complete Top 10 List!

"Michael Jackson's This Is It"
becomes the fifth biggest foreign debut of the year with a huge $68.5 million at the international box-office. Right here in the U.S., "This Is It" debuted with a modest $32.5 million since opening Tuesday night.

For the weekend, the documentary sold $21.3 million ticket sales from 3,481 theaters. (See my movie review of "Michael Jackson's This Is It" right here)

Now, Sony has announced that it is extending the film's supposed 2-week run by 3 weeks or through Thanksgiving!

The previous box-office champ, "Paranormal Activity," only declined by 22% and its total theater count is now at 2,404. For the weekend, the film grossed an estimated $16.5 million. So far, its total is now at $84.8 million.

(Check out my movie review of "Paranormal Activity" right here, and my interviews with stars Katie Featherston and Micah Sloat right here)

"Law Abiding Citizen" starring Gerard Butler and Jamie Foxx remained steady at No. 3 while "Couples Retreat" with Vince Vaughn and Jon Favreau clung on to the No. 4 spot.

Meanwhile, the "Saw" franchise is seeing its star quality dim. The sixth installment of the series fell steeply in its second session to No. 5 with a 61% decline. "Saw VI" made $5.6 million from 3,306 theaters. The horror flick has a box office total of $22.8 million, the lowest of the franchise so far.
