Emile Hirsch to Star as "Hamlet," "Twilight" Director to Helm

Another generation, another "Hamlet" adaptation. This time, the William Shakespeare masterpiece is getting a makeover with a modern-day take ala Baz Luhrmann's "Romeo + Juliet" with Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes.

In "Hamlet," Emile Hirsch is on board to star as the doomed prince.

"Twilight's" Catherine Hardwicke is set to direct from a script currently being adapted by "Philadelphia's" Ron Nyswaner. Dan Jinks and Bruce Cohen are producing.

Hirsch previously worked with Jinks and Cohen for "Milk," and the actor also worked with Hardwicke for "Lords of Dogtown."

As If It's a Surprise, Sacha Baron Cohen is Being Sued, Again! What Did "Bruno" Do Now?

Can Sacha Baron Cohen ever work in peace? He was sued so many times for "Borat," and with his upcoming film "Bruno," more lawsuits are emerging, like this one. According to Variety:

LANCASTER, Calif. (AP) -- Sacha Baron Cohen's new movie isn't in theaters yet, but it's already producing the same sort of buzz and legal backlash that his last hit, "Borat," created. Richelle Olson sued the 37-year-old actor and NBC Universal on May 22, claiming an incident at a charity bingo tournament that was filmed for the upcoming "Bruno" left her disabled.

Olson claims she was severely injured after struggling with Cohen and his film crew at the event, held in Palmdale, Calif., two years ago. The lawsuit states she now needs a wheelchair or cane to move around.

The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages of more than $25,000.

"Land of the Lost" Movie Review -- Should Marshall, Will, and Holly Return to TV Land?

Like stepping into a snazzy but clunky time machine ride, “Land of the Lost” leaves its 70s TV-show roots behind and travels full-speed ahead to the future to transform into a multi-million dollar big-screen production.

Marshall, Will, and Holly return tagging along their ape-boy pal Chaka. The dinosaurs also make a comeback, so do the slow but creepy reptilians called Sleestak. The big question remains – do we really need a “Land of the Lost” reboot? Apparently, show creators Sid and Marty Krofft think so. They’re behind this mildly entertaining and mindless special effects extravaganza.

Updating the show’s special effects may be the only driving force behind this movie makeover. I remember the stodgy dinosaur claymation of the 70s series. But as a child, I thought it was the coolest thing ever. With the big screen version, you know it’s in trouble when Matt Lauer (yeah, the “Today Show” anchorman) eclipses the film’s star, Will Ferrell. Read More...
