So...Third "Twilight" Director, David Slade, Secretly Hated the Vampire Romance?

David Slade, the guy who gave us "30 Days of Night" is the chosen one to direct the third "Twilight" flick, "Eclipse."

But does Slade secretly despise the "Twilight" franchise? Judging from a recorded interview with the BDK movie show on WJFK in Washington, DC, Slade seemed to harbor disdain for the film.

But then again, this was from last year, before Slade heard he'd be directing the third film. He now sold his soul, and must prove to everyone that he can make the best "Twilight" film ever!

Here's a transcript of his rant courtesy of slashfilm.com:

…and so yesterday we were trying to find a movie to see and we’d seen all the good ones, you know, and there was nothing really coming out this weekend that we really fancied at all and having directed a vampire film and really gone for something completely different to the kind of romantic, you know, repressed hormone teen vampire movie we really weren’t interested in seeing Twilight but a lot of people said lets go so I wrote -

“Twilight drunk? No, not even drunk. Twilight on acid? No, not even on acid? Twilight at gun point? Just shoot me.”

[That’s like] a poem in a way [...] at this point excites me even though people think I’m a really violent and unpleasant person I actually do have this romantic violent side to me. Maybe I should have seen Twilight.

Uh-oh...If you want to hear this soundbite, click here.

Behind the Scenes Look at "Gulliver's Travels"

The production behind "Gulliver's Travels" is on its merry way going about their shoot! So our friend David told us that he visited Blenheim Palace in the UK for a birthday surprise, and he got an even bigger surprise!

He saw Blenheim Palace being used as a backdrop for "Gulliver's Travels."

And according to the Blenheim Palace website:

Blenheim Palace to be used as a film location for Gulliver's Travels Fox UK Productions Limited will be based at Blenheim Palace from Sunday 26 April 2009 until Sunday 17 May to film scenes for the forthcoming family comedy Gulliver's Travels, due for international release in the summer of 2010.

Each day will involve elements of set dressing, location filming or set clearance, and every effort will be made to ensure any disturbance to your visit is kept to a minimum.

We would like to apologise in advance for the inevitable disruption to your visit.

Please note: the Palace interiors will be closed on Thursday 14 and Friday 15 May 2009, however, the Courtyards, the Water Terraces Cafe & Restaurant, the Formal Gardens, the Pleasure Gardens and the Park will all be fully open to visitors as normal.

Income from the location filming makes an important contribution to the ongoing restoration and conservation of Blenheim Palace - thank you in advance for your co-operation, your patience and understanding.
