I Visited the Philippines and This Happened...

I'm having a great time visiting my homeland! A little R & R, cherishing family visits, reconnecting with old friends, and appearing at an outlet that's near and dear in my heart -- Mornings @ ANC! I co-hosted the show, introduced my interviews with the cast of "Danny Collins," and sat on the other end of the interview chair talking about my style of interviewing celebrities, film criticism, and the magic of movies!

Here's a part of the article:

MANILA, Philippines - US-based Filipino film critic Manny dela Rosa, aka "Manny the Movie Guy", first got noticed by Filipinos when his interview with Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway went viral.

Unlike a similar interview with the actress done by a local film critic, Hathaway was fun and charming during dela Rosa's interview in December 2012.

She even remarked on dela Rosa's Les Miserables T-shirt, and showed off her engagement ring.

See "Heathers" In a Whole, New Light!

So a while back, we posted a fun music video about Julian Sands appropriately called "Prayer for Julian Sands." Well, the fantastic songrwiter, Homer Marrs, is at it again and this time, his focus is on the cult-hit "Heathers." I still love the movie starring Winona Ryder and Christian Slater, oh and Shannen Doherty too, and I think you'll like this new music video. It's a witty homage to the wonderful dark comedy "Heathers."

Weekly Movie Reviews: "Home" VS "Get Hard"

Two big movies for you, we have the animated film “Home” from DreamWorks Animation and “Get Hard” from Warner Bros. Pictures. “Home” is based on The True Meaning of Smekday by Adam Rex and the voice cast includes Jim Parsons (Oh), Rihanna (Tip), Jennifer Lopez (Lucy), and Steve Martin (Captain Smek). This one’s from director Tim Johnson who gave us 1998’s “Antz.”

In “Get Hard,” Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart teamed up for the comedy for first-time director Etan Cohen (writer of “Tropic Thunder”). How is the chemistry between Ferrell and Hart? Is the movie funny or just brutally offensive? Take a look at my reviews of both “Home” and “Get Hard.”
