Gerard Butler & Director Antoine Fuqua Interview “Olympus Has Fallen”

I am very happy to report that Gerard Butler is back in the mode we love him the most – action! Helping him is director Antoine Fuqua (“Training Day”). Together, the two (Butler also served as producer of the film) created an intense, nail-biting, non-stop action flick that has absolutely no pretensions! And I enjoyed the film!

Butler stars as Mike Banning, a disgraced Presidential guard who must return to the White House to save our POTUS from Korean terrorists. And did I tell you the movie is intense? And that’s largely due to Fuqua’s firm direction.

In this interview, we talked about:

*** The film’s substance
*** The White House has not been attacked like this since aliens zapped it in “Independence Day”
*** How the film was developed – listen to Fuqua’s calm answer

Have fun!

Angela Bassett & Aaron Eckhart Talk “Olympus Has Fallen”

I love, love, love Angela Bassett! She’s one of the sweetest, down-to-earth folks I’ve ever interviewed! And Aaron Eckhart is equally sweet and answered my questions with wit! Both star in the new movie “Olympus Has Fallen” with Gerard Butler doing double-duty as producer and actor. This is from the “Training Day” director, Antoine Fuqua, and let me tell ya, it’s guns ablazing! An all-out action film blessed with fine actors.

Bassett plays the Secret Service Director Lynn Jacobs while Eckhart is our President Benjamin Asher. Both characters are tested when the White House was taken over by an insane terrorist, Kang, played by Rick Yune.

In this interview, we talked about:

*** What got them interested to join the cast of “Olympus Has Fallen”
*** To Aaron – how was it working with Melissa Leo? How they one-up each other in the set!
*** To Angela – working with Morgan Freeman
*** Was the journey in working with director Antoine Fuqua all worth it?
*** How Fuqua motivated them
*** What do they want fans to feel after watching “Olympus Has Fallen”

Have fun!

Why Iran is Planning on Suing Hollywood!

Uh-oh, Iran is planning to sue Hollywood because of the Oscar-winning "Argo" according to the Huffington Post. Why? Due to the movie's supposedly "unrealistic portrayal" of Iran.

Iranian media are reporting that French lawyer, Isabelle Coutant-Peyre, is in Iran to talk to officials on how to proceed with the lawsuit. And by the way, Coutant-Peyre is also the lawyer for the notorious Venezuelan-born terrorist Ilich Ramirez Sanchez aka Carlos the Jackal.

This was not the first time Hollywood has irritated Iran. In 2009, the country wanted an apology from a team of visiting Hollywood actors, including Annette Bening, because they claimed that "300" and "The Wrestler" were insulting to Iranians.

Halle Berry to Bring Storm Back in "X-Men: Days of Future Past"

Storm returns!

Speaking to Jay Leno in "The Tonight Show," Halle Berry confirmed that she would be donning her Storm costume again for "X-Men: Days of Future Past." Why? Because according to her, it's a great role and "those residual checks don’t hurt." See? Money talks especially Marvel dough!

Berry added that Storm is a character that she loves and the fans really dig the whole series. She said, "They really love Storm. It’s like family. It’s fun to get back together with Hugh and everybody. It’s good fun."

Bryan Singer will also return to the franchise to direct. The last "X-Men" film he helmed was 2003's "X2." Matthew Vaughn, who created the last "X-Men" film, the fantastic 2011's "First Class," co-wrote the screenplay with Simon Kinberg based on John Byrne and Chris Claremont's comic book.

"X-Men: Days of Future Past" will go into production soon and is set for release on July 18th of next year. Patrick Stewart (Professor Charles Xavier), Ellen Page (Kitty Pryde/Shadowcat), and Anna Paquin (Marie/Rogue) are expected to return to the franchise as well.

The stars will be joining Jennifer Lawrence (Raven/Mystique), Nicholas Hoult (Hank McCoy/Beast), Hugh Jackman (Logan/Wolverine), Michael Fassbender (Erik Lehnsherr/Magneto), and James McAvoy (Charles Xavier).

Intriguing! It's like what J.J. Abrams did to the "Star Trek" reboot. And if you're equally intrigued, like me, I found this on Wikipedia about the comic book original:

"Days of Future Past" is a popular storyline in the Marvel Comics comic book The Uncanny X-Men issues #141 and #142, published in 1981. It deals with a dystopian alternative future in which mutants are incarcerated in internment camps. An adult Kate Pryde transfers her mind into her younger self, the present-day Kitty Pryde, who brings the X-Men to prevent a fatal moment in history which triggers anti-mutant hysteria.
