My Super Funny One-on-One Interviews with the cast of "THE GOODS: LIVE HARD. SELL HARD." From Alan Thicke to Jeremy Piven, See What the Stars Reveal!

First of, have I told you how much I love this film? It's SUPER-FUNNY! But, the greatest comedies have underlying tones of despair, and the characters in "The Goods" certainly have lots of those, hence, the funnies :happy

Make it the super funnies!

From the folks who gave us "Talladega Nights" and "Stepbrothers," "The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard" is one of the best comedies of the summer, perhaps the year!

Directed by Neil Brennan from the script by Andy Stock and Rick Stempson, this film ain't a clunker! Paramount has great timing with the whole Cash for Clunkers program.

You'll find a new, perhaps, respect for used car salesman! "The Goods" opens this Friday, Aug. 14th, so don't miss it!

So I attended the press junket for "The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard" and sat down with the cast. Here they are (click on pictures to see video):

Are You Ready for a Film Based on...LEGO? See Which One's Piecing It Together!

Toy-based films are taking over Hollywood! Argh!!!!

"Transformers" franchise is a great success, "G.I. Joe" is right behind it, then coming up next we'll have Monopoly, Candyland, Battleship, Stretch Armstrong, View-Master, Max Steel, Hot Wheels and He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.

Argh part 2!!!

Now, Warner Bros. is toying with the idea of building a film based on Lego.

Dan and Kevin Hageman are writing the script for this family comedy (what else???) that will mix live action and animation. WB is not revealing the plot, but this we know -- it's an action adventure set in a Lego world!

Dan Lin, executive producer of the upcoming "Shorts" and "Sherlock Holmes" will be in charge of the film.

Do you know that many directors and producers have thought of making a movie based on Lego? But the Danish toymaker turned them all down because it's highly protective of it's building blocks brand!

The only movies that Lego has produced based on its brand are the direct-to-DVD animated flicks under its Bionicle line.

So what changed the toymaker's mind? According to Variety, the company sparked to Lin and the Hageman brothers' embrace of core values Lego wanted to include in a film, especially "a fun factor, creativity and that imagination has no boundaries."

So far, the film's been in development for more than a year and the filmmakers have been traveling to Denmark to piece the movie together!

"The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" Finds its Royce King II

Summit Entertainment's threequel "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" has added a new cast member! Actor Jack Huston will be joining Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Bryce Dallas Howard in the third installment of the super popular vampire series based on Stephenie Meyer's novels.

Huston will be playing Royce King II, a human, yes, human that lived during the Great Depression.

The third film will be directed by David Slade, the guy who gave us "30 Days of Night" and the production will begin soon in Vancouver.

"The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" is set for release June 30 of next year.

Yay! Sylvester Stallone to be Honored at Venice Film Festival! Parts of "The Expendables" to be Shown!

Sylvester Stallone is set to be awarded with the, repeat after me, JAEGER-LECOULTRE GLORY TO THE FILMMAKER AWARD, at this year's Venice Film Festival.

It's an "auteur" award "dedicated to an artist who has left his mark on contemporary cinema." I agree with that about Stallone, don't you?

Takeshi Kitano, Agnes Varda, and Abbas Kiarostami were previous Jaeger-Lecoultre awardees.

Why are the event's organizers giving Stallone the award? They said:

"Through all of his movies -- even the ones he has not directed or are considered 'less important' -- Stallone has shaped his own character with much care, and reflected upon it, giving us an iconic exploration among the most coherent and lucid of contemporary America cinema.

"Stallone has shown an original eye and an auteur's determination. His is a cinema capable of tenderness even when dripping with blood."

Go Rocky!

The best part? There will be a sneak preview of some sequences of Stallone's new film he wrote and directed called "The Expendables." The film features Jason Statham, Jet Li, and Mickey Rourke.

The Venice Film Festival runs Sept. 2-12.

Congratulations Mister Sylvester!

A New "Anne Frank" Movie, This Time From Disney and David Mamet!

Walt Disney Pictures has acquired the rights to a new film version of "The Diary of Anne Frank." Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Mamet is set to write the script and direct.

Mamet will use the diary and the original play by Albert Hackett and Frances Goodrich for inspiration. Hackett and Goodrich also wrote the script of the 1959 film version of "The Diary of Anne Frank" directed by George Stevens. That film was nominated for 8 Oscars and won three including Shelly Winters for Best Supporting Actress, Best Art Direction-Set Decoration, Black-and-White, and
Best Cinematography, Black-and-White.

"The Diary of Anne Frank" tells the gripping true-to-life story of a young Jewish girl who hides with her family in the attic in Amsterdam from the Nazis. That's the plot, but I think the stronger theme is Frank's coming-of-age story during World War II.

Mamet is a great storyteller, so I think he'll do justice to this new film version.
