We're all buzzing about with excitement to hear that Joss Whedon, the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" god, is about to sign to direct Marvel Studios' "The Avengers." Yay!
I love "Buffy" so much that I devoted my thesis in school to the iconic show, and that's largely because of Whedon. And here's hoping that the director will do justice to "The Avengers."
It's an all-star team of Marvel superheroes such as Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), and SHIELD leader Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson). Apparently, Marvel wants Edward Norton to return as the Hulk too, so we'll see.
Whedon is a comic book geek at heart (he wrote the 2004 "Astonishing X-Men" comic book series for Marvel) so he's the perfect choice. Perfect I say!

I enjoyed this film! I specially love Chloe Moretz aka Hit Girl! She awakens the girl power residing within me, HA!
Kidding aside, I like how director Matthew Vaughn and creator Mark Millar subvert the comic book genre and ground it in realism -- painful, honest, and true!
The last 10 minutes are full of super hero conventions that will make you clap! Vaughn and company did what they sought out to do -- entertain its target audience. The film is bloody, violent, fun, entertaining, and deliciously evil.
I'll post my full review right here by tomorrow, promise! Just giving y'all a heads up...

Why do I deserve the movie loot? Well...as my 5 year old would say....I just do! LOL
I just had the opportunity to watch "Clash of the Titans" today, and it was great. I'm just finishing up a year tour in Kuwait with the US Army. They bring new releases to us here fairly quick, so we have a chance to keep up with the latest movies. I was able to catch "How To Train Your Dragon" a couple of weeks ago, and hope it's still playing when I get back to the states. I can't wait to take my kids to see it. As for "The Last Song", they haven't gotten it here yet, but my wife and daughter went to see it several days ago, and they said it was great.
Anyway, thanks for the giveway....and hopefully, the loot! Keep the reviews coming!

It was a weekend of speculations at the box-office. First, Fox was adamant that their "Date Night" was No. 1 with $27.1 million. But Warner Bros. was equally confident that "Clash of the Titans" remained victorious, even though initial numbers showed that the Greek mythology flick made $26.9 million.
Dan Fellman, head of distribution for Warner even said, "They're (Fox) certainly entitled to their own projection, and we'll see. Maybe they're right and we're wrong. Monday will tell." (Watch my movie review of "Clash of the Titans" right here)
Well it's Monday, and the final tally is in, and guess what folks, Fellman was right! Sam Worthington and his giant Kraken beat Tina Fey and Steve Carell.
The 3-D action fantasy "Clash of the Titans" remained the No. 1 film in America with $26.6 million raising its total to $110.2 million. Meanwhile, "Date Night" must settle for the No. 2 spot with $25.2 million. (Check out my movie review of "Date Night" right here)
The fantastic 3-D animated flick, "How to Train Your Dragon," remained the weekend's solid No. 3 with $24.7 million dropping just 15% in its third week, and earning a total of $133.2 million. I love this film! (Check out my movie review right here, and my interviews with Jay Baruchel, Craig Ferguson, America Ferrera, and writers/director Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois)
"Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married Too?" earned $11 million for the No. 4 spot, while the Miley Cyrus flick "The Last Song" took in $10 million for the No. 5 position.
Here's the list of the Top 10 box-office films for the weekend of April 9th:
1. "Clash of the Titans," $26.6 million.
2. "Date Night," $25.2 million.
3. "How to Train Your Dragon," $25.4 million.
4. "Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married Too?", $11 million.
5. "The Last Song," $10 million.
6. "Alice in Wonderland," $5.6 million.
7. "Hot Tub Time Machine," $5.4 million.
8. "The Bounty Hunter," $4.3 million.
9. "Diary of a Wimpy Kid," $4.1 million.
10. "Letters to God," $1.3 million.

As we reported back in September, Columbia Pictures regained the power of Grayskull when "He-Man" and Mattel parted ways with Warner Bros. Now, Columbia Pictures moves the project forwad by hiring Mike Finch and Alex Litvak to write the screenplay for "Masters of the Universe."
The duo are fresh from rebooting "Predators" and are ready to tackle the world of He-Man and his planet Eternia. According to The Hollywood Reporter, in their pitch, "the scribes attempted to balance a treatment that would convince the studio it was cinematic and keep the toy company satisfied that its characters were being portrayed appropriately."
So be rest assured, He-Man fans, that all your favorite characters will be featured in the film such as Battle Cat, Man-at-Arms, and Orko. Of course, Prince Adam will be there, as well as his nemesis, Skeletor!
