My Fun Interview with David Tennant for "Fright Night!" No TARDIS Required!

I love, love, love David Tennant! The erstwhile Dr. Who rides his TARDIS and appears in his first major Hollywood role in “Fright Night” (yes, he appeared in “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” but it wasn’t a big role compared to “Fright Night”).

In the movie, Tennant takes over the Peter Vincent role that Roddy McDowall made famous in the original 1985 “Fright Night.” This time though, he’s not a late-night TV monster host but a magician wearing guyliner in the vein of Criss Angel.

It was an honor to talk to the Scottish actor even though it was just a satellite interview live from London. We talked about:

*** What attracted him to working on “Fright Night”
*** How he researched the role
*** Was he a fan of the original film?
*** Working with Colin Farrell
*** The enduring allure of vampires in pop-culture

Here you go, and have fun!

Here's more info on "Fright Night" from Yahoo:

Senior Charlie Brewster finally has it all -- he's running with the popular crowd and dating the hottest girl in high school. In fact, he's so cool he's even dissing his best friend Ed. But trouble arrives when an intriguing stranger Jerry moves in next door. He seems like a great guy at first, but there's something not quite right -- and everyone, including Charlie's mom, doesn't notice. After witnessing some very unusual activity, Charlie comes to an unmistakable conclusion: Jerry is a vampire preying on his neighborhood. Unable to convince anyone that he's telling the truth, Charlie has to find a way to get rid of the monster himself.

Anne Hathaway was in high spirits when I met her for the “One Day” junket in New York. This was my third time meeting her, and absolutely my favorite interview with her! She was sweet, cordial, and FUN!

*** What did she see in her character Emma that made her want to do “One Day”
*** How did she prepare for the role?
*** Did she help in looking for the right “look” for Emma?
*** Speaking of “look,” Hathaway teases us about Catwoman! She purrs and meows and scratches! HA!

It was a pleasure seeing Jim Sturgess again. I interviewed the actor before for “Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole” where he voiced the character Soren. This time around, Sturgess stars in the romantic drama “One Day” with Anne Hathaway based on the beloved book by David Nicholls.

In this interview, we talked about:

*** What he saw in the character Dexter that made him want to do “One Day”
*** Working with Anne Hathaway

"Conan the Barbarian" Movie Review! How Many Kisses Does Jason Momoa Get?

I used to love the sword and sorcery genre as a kid. I entered the magical realm by way of the 1982 “Conan the Barbarian” movie starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. I even enjoyed the sequel, “Conan the Destroyer,” and the spin-off called “Red Sonja” starring Brigitte Nielsen.

So when I first heard that Lionsgate was planning to reboot “Conan the Barbarian,” I welcomed the news with utter disbelief. But I can tell you now that watching the latest incarnation of the world’s most famous barbarian brought back the same feelings I had when I saw Schwarzenegger’s heroic fantasy for the first time.
