Your One-Stop 2009 Oscars News! Winners Fraud, Hugh Jackman's Naked Plans, and Mickey Rourke Says He's NOT Going to Win
HUGH JACKMAN NAKED?
Many rumors have been swirling around Hugh Jackman's participation as the host of the 2009 Oscars. Now, the impressive actor, full-time sex symbol, and all around showman joked:
"I haven't told anyone this, but we are going to do most of it naked and we're going to sing through the whole show.
"In fact, all the acceptance speeches are going to be sung. There will be some interpretive dance behind them, and I really think it will be beautiful and touching.
"There will be a strategic leaf placed here or there. We don't want to be distasteful or anything. This is a raw night. This is the Oscars. Raw emotion, that's the quality we're going for."
That will be an Oscar telecast I want to see! But alas, it's just a joke. But this I can guarantee you, producers Bill Condon and Laurence Mark made an excellent choice by picking Jackman, and the star will inject high-energy to the show!
ANNE HATHAWAY PERFORMING?
Unconfirmed reports about Oscar nominee Anne Hathaway to open the Academy Awards with a song-and-dance number have been blazing through the world wide web.
Apparently, Hathaway was seen rehearsing at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood yesterday, Thursday. And there are insiders saying she'll kick off the Oscar telecast with Hugh Jackman.
Other stars rumored to be teaming up with Jackman are: Beyonce Knowles, Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, and the kids from "Slumdog Millionaire." Ooops, that last one was a joke
SPEAKING OF THE "SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE" CHILD ACTORS, THEY WILL ATTEND THE OSCARS!!!
First, let's talk about the accusations. Rumor has it that "Slumdog" producers and director Danny Boyle underpaid the child stars, Rubiana Ali (young Latika) and Azharuddin Ismail (young Malik).
According to reports, both kids were paid $725 and $2,465 respectively for their work.
But Boyle and company said, uh uh, the children were "paid three times the average local annual adult salary, were enrolled in school for the first time, and a fund was established for their future welfare."
Okay, I feel much better now!
Oh, and to prove their claims, FOX Searchlight has confirmed the kids will "receive A-list treatment" and will be put up in a five-star hotel for two days!
Aw, that's cute, and cool, and they deserve it darn it!
Fox Searchlight representative James Finn says, "Everybody is really excited about it. It's nice the whole gang will be together."
MICKEY ROURKE SAYS HE'S NOT GOING TO WIN!
Call it reverse optimism, or flash-forward pessimism, but "The Wrestler's" Mickey Rourke says he's not going to win Best Actor this Sunday!
Why? He says because of his past bad behavior towards the industry, and most importantly, towards studio bosses!
Rourke further claims:
"It's voted for by people from the movie business and in the past I've hacked them all off. I was good at that. It came easy to me. I stupidly said acting wasn't a job for a real man. I threatened producers, raged at directors, forgot my agent's name. I really burned my bridges. And a lot of people have long memories."
Aw, come on Mister Mickey, you're the comeback kid! And I think Hollywood can and has forgiven you! Quit feeling sorry for yourself, dust yourself up, and let's hope and pray there will be a Best Actor tie between you and Sean Penn. Wouldn't that be great?
OSCAR FRAUD! HAVE YOU SEEN THIS FAKE LETTER?
Gosh, it's worse than my Oscar predictions
Take a look at this!
Okay, before you guys get excited, THIS IS FAKE!
Someone emailed me this today with the subject line "sh*t." Classy!
But let me stress this again, IT'S FAKE FAKE FAKE!
According to an Oscars spokeswoman, Leslie Unger, "The document is a complete fraud."
"PricewaterhouseCoopers is still counting the ballots and there are only two people there who will know the complete list of winners in advance of the envelopes being opened during the ceremony. The Academy's president is not advised of the winners in advance and no such list is created."
Hhhhmmmm, I wonder who leaked this. Who will gain the most by doing such a thing? Ah, people talking about the Oscars? Ratings? ABC? Perhaps not! Or an overzealous fan? We may never know!
But don't put your money on this list, again, IT'S FAKE!!!!

I just love Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor. She turned that role into an iconic figure -- an ass-kicking toughie with a big heart! Between her and Sigourney Weaver's Ripley, I feel very safe in this world
GOOD NEWS, MTV is exclusively reporting that Linda Hamilton has a special role for the upcoming "Terminator Salvation" starring the F-bomb dropping Christian Bale and directed by McG.
According to the music channel's movie site:
While she awaits the specifics in a script, Hamilton already knows what her role generally would be. “My contribution would be voiceover,” she said. “I would probably be very happy to loan my voice depending on what the material is. Wait and see. They’re already writing it. We’ve been negotiating it.”
Okay, I know I know it's just a voiceover, I'm not too thrilled but it's better than nothing. I wish McG will be able to insert a couple of scenes with Hamilton and provide a good arc for her character.

Look how fierce she is!
She's Madea, and honestly? The franchise gets better as new films come along.
"Madea Goes to Jail" is a fun romp with a built-in audience, and like all of Perry's films, this one speaks volumes about faith, redemption, and hope!
And yeah, you'll laugh at some scenes as well. That's what Perry said, it's important for him to bring laughter to this world we live in.
So first, watch my interview with Perry, we talked about:
Why bring back Madea?
How was he able to direct and act in 3 roles at the same time?
The movie's message
His humble background
And yes, a little hint about his role in the upcoming J.J. Abrams film, STAR TREK!
Then, little Miss Rudy Huxtable is now all grown up! The little girl we all loved in "The Cosby Show" is ready for mature roles, and in "Madea Goes to Jail," she played a prostitute, a ho!
In my interview with Keisha Knight Pulliam, we talked about:
Her role of Candy
Working with Tyler Perry
And with her Sociology background, explain the sociological impact of Perry's films

This year’s Oscars, billed as “the biggest movie event of the year,” is one of the hardest to predict in recent Academy Awards history. Sure, “Slumdog Millionaire” has been crowned the Oscar frontrunner, but all the other top prizes are up for grabs. There’s no clear-cut favorite.
And if you’re putting all your money on “Slumdog Millionaire,” be very careful. In 2005, “Brokeback Mountain” was considered the one to beat, winning all the critics and industry awards. But on Oscar night, “Crash” emerged as the victor beating the Heath Ledger-Jake Gyllenhaal romantic drama.
But Ledger may get the last laugh because his scene-stealing turn as the Joker in “The Dark Knight” is the only sure thing to win. One thing’s for certain, I will be paying close attention to the Oscar telecast to see how producers Bill Condon and Laurence Mark revamp the show, and to size up Hugh Jackman as the host.
(CLICK FOR FULL OSCARS NOMINATIONS LIST)
“Slumdog Millionaire” – Yes, I’m very careful in choosing this film for Best Picture. Besides all its accolade, the movie’s other advantage is the audiences’ fervor. Moviegoers identify with “Slumdog Millionaire’s” theme of hope against oppression.
Danny Boyle, “Slumdog Millionaire” – Boyle already picked up the Director’s Guild of America award, and that’s a good sign. Besides, Boyle’s passionate film seemed to be the hardest to make, overcoming principal shooting in Mumbai, India.
Sean Penn, “Milk” – Penn is the favorite in this category, but, “The Wrestler’s” Mickey Rourke comes very close. Honestly, it will be a very joyful evening for me, if both win the trophy.
Kate Winslet, “The Reader” – I really want “Frozen River’s” Melissa Leo to win this category, but the hoopla is stronger surrounding Winslet’s performance. Plus, the Academy will give this award to Winslet for turning in two great performances this year (One is from the much better “Revolutionary Road”).
“Doubt’s” Meryl Streep comes very close, but I just don’t think it’s a great performance from the greatest living American actress. Besides, Winslet aged in the movie, and the Academy loves watching actors grow old right before their eyes.
BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR
Heath Ledger, “The Dark Knight” – Hands down, Heath Ledger will win! But I admire the Academy for nominating Michael Shannon from “Revolutionary Road” and Robert Downey Jr. for “Tropic Thunder.”
BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS
Penelope Cruz, “Vicky Cristina Barcelona – My heart says Viola Davis should win from “Doubt.” Anybody who can outshine Meryl Streep deserves an award! And Davis did it all in less than 12 minutes screen time!
But “Vicky Cristina Barcelona” director, Woody Allen, has a great batting average in this category. Allen has directed past Best Supporting Actress winners Dianne Wiest (“Bullets Over Broadway”) and Mira Sorvino (“Mighty Aphrodite”).
BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY
“Milk” – Screenwriter Dustin Lance Black will win this category! “Milk” is one of those rare films that is both cerebral and emotional. Black’s script celebrates Harvey Milk’s legacy without pandering to its subject.
BEST ADAPTED SCREENPLAY
“Slumdog Millionaire” – Based on a novel by Vikas Swarup, Simon Beaufoy’s “Slumdog Millionaire” script will win this category. Beaufoy has already amassed trophies from the Screenwriters Guild of America and the Critics’ Choice Awards, and he better leave a room on his mantle for his Oscar trophy.
