HEADED TO COMIC-CON NEXT WEEKEND, GET YOUR QUESTIONS FOR "DEATH RACE"

I love Comic Con! I've been going religiously for almost 5 years now! My reason for my initial visit was "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," then the following year, I was lucky enough to meet Sarah Michelle Gellar for "The Grudge."

I almost always had to work during Comic Con, but who are we kidding here? It's all fun! One year, I interviewed Samuel L. Jackson and company for "Snakes On a Plane," and the following year, it was just for pure vacation.

But this year? Hold on to your hats, I'll be busy as a bee! I got invited to interview the cast and crew of "Death Race," a remake of 1973's "Death Race 2000." I'll be sitting down with Jason Statham, Joan Allen, Ian McShane, etc.

Then, I'll be catching up on all things movies! One of the films I'm jonesing to see is "Hamlet 2." So I'll keep you posted with my adventure!

For now, if you have any questions for the "Death Race" gang, ask now, or forever hold your peace :happy

Click either Contact Me, or comment below, or email me at manny@mannythemovieguy.com and submit your question/s! Our friends at Statham Fan, are helping us get questions for Jason and the "Death Race" folks.

I'll let you know if I use your question! Have fun!

"DARK KNIGHT" SETS WEEKEND RECORD!!!

So long Spidey, here comes the Bat!

"The Dark Knight" topped the previous record set by "Spider-Man 3" for the title of the biggest weekend opener ever. The caped crusader took in $155.34 million!

I called "The Dark Knight" the best movie of the year so far, but the other new film to open last weekend, "Mamma Mia," was a good flick as well! The musical debuted at No. 2 with $27.6 million.

"The Dark Knight," which cost $185 million to make, also broke the "Spider-Man 3" record for best debut in IMAX large-screen theaters with $6.2 million. "Spider-Man 3" opened with $4.7 million in IMAX cinemas.

"VALLEY GIRL" THE MUSICAL!!!

It seems like every 80s flick is being turned into a musical! We heard about John Cleese turning "A Fish Called Wanda" into a showstopper, now, it's "Valley Girl!"

The 1983 teen romance starred the fresh-faced Nicolas Cage as Randy, a punk from the city, who falls in love with Julie (Deborah Foreman), a girl from the valley.

They are from different worlds and find love. The End.

It's a predictable piece of fluff, but heck, "Valley Girl" is totally tubular 80s pop icon! And it has a really awesome soundtrack!

Now, MGM is putting "Valley Girl" into a full-on musical mix! Click here for the full story!

"PAPILLON" REMAKE!!!

Remember the 1973 flick starring Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman? If you haven't seen this movie, go watch it, at least for the actors' performances.

This escape story about two criminals on a dreadful prison island was being called "The greatest adventure of escape ever filmed!"

Now, Spanish production company, Atlantia Canarias, is partnering with L.A. producers Branko Lustig Lustig ("Schindler's List," "Gladiator") and John Kelly ("The Black Dahlia") for a remake of "Papillon."

This sounds interesting. No word yet on the director or writer. Stay tuned!
