Eastwood has a great Oscar track record, that many are saying "Gran Torino" is a sure-fire Oscar powerhouse! And if you guys haven't seen "Changeling" yet, go watch it!

Javier Bardem is set to star in the upcoming flick, "Biutiful." No, that's not a typo, that's how writer/director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu ("Amores perros," "Babel") spelled the word.
The Spanish-language flick will shoot in Barcelona next week.
"Biutiful" is about a shady man who is confronted by his childhood friend, now a cop!
I admire Bardem, and I think this is a perfect project for him!

Director Sam Raimi, known for his great "Evil Dead" franchise and "Spider-Man" movies, tried to revive Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan character. You may know the character from "The Hunt for Red October" (Alec Baldwin played the character), Harrison Ford starred as Jack Ryan in "Clear and Present Danger" and "Patriot Games" and Ben Affleck tried to be Jack in "The Sum of All Fears."
Well, hopes for Raimi to spread his movie magic on the Jack Ryan franchise have been dashed! Revealing his thoughts to MTV, Raimi expounds on the following nuggets:
“I’m really excited about Spider-Man,” he told us this week, revealing that his flirtation with the Tom Clancy novel-to-film series that has starred Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford and Ben Affleck is finished. “Production [on more ‘Spider-Man’ films] would start probably by March, I’m guessing of 2010.”
Raimi revealed to us during the chat that he’d be willing to shoot “Spider-Man 4” and “Spider-Man 5” at the same time, and also spoke about the futures of Kirsten Dunst and The Lizard. And, as he explained, that doesn’t leave him any time to reboot Tom Clancy’s tale of America’s top CIA operative.
“I love Tom Clancy, and I hope they’d keep me in mind,” Raimi shrugged, admitting that he couldn’t realistically make a Jack Ryan movie for half a decade or more. “But because I’m committed to ‘Spider-Man and making that picture, I think it’s going to knock me out of the running for the Jack Ryan picture.”

Every generation has its own high school themed film. The 70s has “American Graffiti,” the 80s is marked by the John Hughes’ movies (“The Breakfast Club,” “Pretty in Pink”), the 90s has “American Pie,” and now, this generation has the “High School Musical” flicks. The franchise is decidedly cloying, but it’s ultimately harmless.
Imagine all the high school stereotypes you know and put them together in one big musical, and voila, you get “High School Musical.” There’s the jock, the beauty queen, the smart and pretty girl-next-door, the nerd, the rebel, all singing and dancing for the tween (the preadolescent crowd) generation.
