Ben Stiller Admits to Me He's Working on "Zoolander 2" Sequel!

I took part in the "Greenberg" press junket in NY, and I spoke with Greta Gerwig (the heart of the film), Rhys Ifans (the brain of the film), and Ben Stiller (the glue that keeps on ungluing himself -- brilliant performance by Stiller!). You have to watch "Greenberg" when it opens on March 26 -- Writer/Director Noah Baumbach ("The Squid and the Whale") is a keen observer of everyday life, plus the movie is a love letter to Los Angeles minus its obvious Hollywood trappings.

I will post the video of my interviews soon, but Stiller was stoic in person with a dry wit, but I made him laugh, you'll see. Towards the end of our interview, I managed to sneak in the all-important question -- "Is it true you're working on the script for 'Zoolander 2' now and why?" To which he said, "Yes, it's confirmed, Justin Theroux from 'Tropic Thunder' is collaborating on the script with me."

And while he's telling me these words, you could see a glimmer in his eye deep inside that Derek Zoolander is trying to get out...brilliant, alive!

And I said, great, he and I can sashay together! Laughter ensued...

So, I met Mike Vogel, One of the "Captain America" Contenders! And He Said...

I interviewed Mike Vogel for his upcoming funny film "She's Out of My League" due March 12, and I just couldn't resist to ask him about "Captain America." (I'll post my interviews as soon as I get out of this messy New York's Armageddon here! "The Day After Tomorrow" re-enactment!!!)

You see, Vogel is one of the many hopefuls to play Steve Rogers aka Captain America. (See all the other "Captain America" contenders by clicking here)

So when I asked Vogel about the screen test, he said, "I don't want to jinx it, but yes, I'm very excited to test for the film."

So the actor, who has the aw-shucks charm, and good-looking All-American boy qualities in person, opened up about the long, arduous audition process to hopefully land one of the most coveted gigs in Hollywood for young actors right now!

Let's keep our fingers crossed for him, meanwhile, maybe if we make "She's Out of My League" a hit, Marvel Studios may consider Vogel!

Just saying...

Angelina Jolie Says Absolutely NOT to "WANTED 2"

Universal Pictures wanted a sequel to "Wanted" only if Angelina Jolie reprises her role.

Well, Miss Jolie said no, so the studio is pulling the plug!

Darn it! I wanted to see more of the film, and witness how director Timur Bekmambetov could improve on the first one, and the character Wesley Gibson played by James McAvoy.

According to New York Magazine, Jolie is now intent on starring in Warner Bros.' "Gravity," a space thriller to be directed by "Children of Men's" Alfonso Cuaron. He co-wrote the film with his son, Jonas.

While the sci-fi film sounds exciting (a mother on a space mission, desperately trying to return home to Earth for her daughter), I would have loved to see Jolie kick major ass in "Wanted 2."

Oh well...

It's Confirmed! "Zoolander 2" to Sashay Into Theaters!

Back in Dec. 2008, we first told you that Ben Stiller was ready to revisit Derek Zoolander, the dim-witted model character he lovingly portrayed in "Zoolander." (Check our post right here)

Now DeadlineHollywoodDaily is saying "Tropic Thunder" and "Iron Man 2" writer Justin Theroux is collaborating with Stiller on the script. Theroux, who's also set to direct the sequel, is going to Fashion Week in Paris to immerse himself on what is current in fashion!

There's no deal set for Stiller's original co-star in the film, Hansel aka Owen Wilson, but so far, Jonah Hill, who's under negotiations, may play the villain in the sequel.

Bradley Cooper Leaves McG's "This Means War!" tells us that Bradley Cooper has exited the long-gestating spy comedy "This Means War" leaving co-star Reese Witherspoon, director McG ("Terminator Salvation"), and Twentieth Century Fox.

His reason? Scheduling conflicts with "The Hangover 2!"

But I thought the "Hangover" sequel was not shooting until the fall and "This Means War" was slated to go in production in July? Is it really scheduling conflict Mister Bradley?

Well, is exclusively reporting that, it's really about the creative direction of the film.

But a source close to Cooper says that the actor had creative concerns regarding the project, which centers on two spying best friends whose relationship falls apart when they both fall for the same woman (Witherspoon). The source says Cooper had some issues with the script, which has been through numerous iterations since Fox originally purchased it back in 1998. The most recent draft is from Role Models scribe Timothy Dowling. Cooper’s reps declined to comment.
It isn’t clear what Fox will do now. The script was a priority project, and there is no word on who the studio will reach out to first as a replacement for Cooper.

So lesson learned, when a star says "scheduling conflicts," there's more drama behind that!
