I’m Manny the Movie Guy and I’m a Facebook addict. There, I admit it. Many of us find ourselves utterly obsessed with the social-networking website. And the new movie about the history of Facebook is as wonderfully addictive.
Big credit goes to scriptwriter Aaron Sorkin. The “West Wing” creator brilliantly exposes the politics behind the making of Facebook. The result is a layered, funny, and smart script that deserves to win an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay. Read More...

Maggie Grace is joining the cast of "Twilight" for the final installment, "Breaking Dawn." She will play the role of Irina, a member of the Denali coven who will set forth the terrifying plot of the last chapter that will have our heroes Edward (Robert Pattinson), Bella (Kristen Stewart), and Jacob (Taylor Lautner) in big trouble.
Grace played the hapless daughter of Liam Neeson in "Taken," and she was also part of the "Lost" ensemble as Shannon Rutherford. Bill Condon is directing the two separate movies, and Summit will release the first film on November 18, 2011.

Gore Verbinski is in talks to return to the loving arms of his "Pirates of the Caribbean" megastar, Johnny Depp, for "The Lone Ranger" according to Deadline. This will also mark Verbinski's return to Disney and producer Jerry Bruckheimer. Depp is set to star as Tonto.
No word yet on the production start date, or who will play The Lone Ranger. But the trio of Depp, Bruckheimer, and Verbinski should seal this deal and help the project move forward.

Darren Aronofsky, currently getting major Oscar buzz for "Black Swan," is the latest director to join the "Superman" bandwagon. Producer Christopher Nolan is conducting his search for the next Superman helmer, and among the director hopefuls are Tony Scott, Matt Reeves, Jonathan Liebesman, Duncan Jones, and Zack Snyder. All of them are interested to work on the film from a script by David Goyer. And all of them have met/will meet Nolan and wife/co-producer Emma Thomas.
All of the "potentials" are good directors (I totally enjoyed Reeves' remake "Let Me In"), but I'm hoping, praying, wishing that Aronofsky gets the job. He's a brilliant director (okay, "The Fountain" is all forgiven now), a great storyteller, and he made Mickey Rourke relevant again.
I can just imagine the collaboration between Nolan and Aronofsky! It's made of steel!
