Can't Wait to See "Godzilla!"

The 1998 "Godzilla" movie underwhelmed me, no, make that irritated me, but yet, like most of you, I have a special place in my heart for the giant lizard. So, I'm really, really looking forward to seeing the new version of "Godzilla" opening nationwide on May 16th!

This one seems promising with director Gareth Edwards at the helm. He gave us the smart "Monsters" in 2010 (if you missed it, it's now available for rent), blending politics, emotions, and alien invasions -- a main ingredient for a great "Godzilla" movie.

And this weekend, I'll be watching "Godzilla" and interviewing the cast including Bryan Cranson, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and the lovely Elizabeth Olsen. Oh, and I'll be talking to Edwards too!

I can't wait! I'll give you my full report soon, but for now, watch this exclusive "Godzilla" Asia trailer, hear him roar!

“The Quiet Ones” Movie Review

“The Quiet Ones,” bearing the mark of Hammer Films, is a scary flick that features the age-old debate between science and the supernatural. Jared Harris stars as Professor Coupland, a professor who thinks he can exorcise demons using science. His subject for his experiment is Jane Harper (Olivia Cooke), a possessed young girl with deep, dark secrets. Capturing the entire experiment is Brian McNeil played by Sam Claflin (“The Hunger Games: Catching Fire).

Is “The Quiet Ones” worth your time and money? Check out my review.

Official Synopsis:

From the producer who brought you The Woman In Black and Let Me In comes the unnerving tale of The Quiet Ones. Tucked away in an estate outside of London, Professor Coupland along with a team of university students conduct an "experiment" on Jane Harper, a young girl who harbors unspeakable secrets. What dark forces they uncover are more terrifying than any of them expected. Inspired by true events, the film stars Jared Harris (Mad Men and Sherlock Homes: A Game of Shadows), Sam Claflin (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire), Olivia Cooke (Bates Motel), and is directed by John Pogue from a screenplay by Craig Rosenberg and Oren Moverman and John Pogue, and based on a screenplay by Tom de Ville. Outrageous! The Cast of "Jem and the Holograms"

If you were a child of the '80s, this news is for you! The "Jem and the Holograms" movie has been cast! According to The Hollywood Reporter, Aubrey Peeples ("Nashville") will play Jem while Stefanie Scott ("A.N.T. Farm") will star as Jem's sister, Kimber. Aurora Perrineau of "Pretty Little Liars" will jam as Shana and Hayley Kiyoko of "The Fosters" will play Aja.

Jon M. Chu ("Step Up 2," "Step Up 3D," "G.I. Joe: Retaliation," the two Justin Bieber documentaries) will direct the film which is based on a popular cartoon (with an equally popular theme song, see below) and toy collection.

Blumhouse Productions and Scooter Braun Productions are teaming up for this project which is supposed to be an updated look at the show complete with social media shenanigans.

Peeples went on her own social medium via Instagram and posted the "Jem" cast picture below where she wrote "#tbt to a week ago at @scooterbraun 's going over #JemTheMovie @stefaniescott @kiyoko11 @auroraperrineau @jemthemovie."

For now, let's reminisce and watch the intro of the cartoon with the lovably ingratiating theme song, it's truly outrageous!

My Fun Interview with Sam Claflin, Oliva Cooke, Jared Harris for “The Quiet Ones”

I enjoyed meeting the three stars from the upcoming film “The Quiet Ones” namely Sam Claflin (“The Hunger Games: Catching Fire”), Olivia Cooke (“Bates Motel”), and Jared Harris (“Sherlock Holmes: The Game of Shadows,” “Pompeii,” “Lincoln”).

The film, bearing the mark of Hammer Films, talks about extracting demonic energy or negative energy according to Professor Joseph Coupland (Harris) and he wants to do exactly just that to Jane Harper (Cooke) who has been talking about a supernatural entity named Evey. Coupland hires videographer, Brian McNeil (Claflin) to document the experiment.

I sat down with the cast to talk about their interest in making the movie, working on the set, and the age-old argument between science and the supernatural.

“The Quiet Ones” from director John Pogue arrives in theaters on Friday, April 25.

Watch Joss Whedon's "In Your Eyes" Now!

Leave it to Joss Whedon to do something cool...again! The hero of my 20s (that's largely because of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," arguably, one of the best TV shows...ever!), is breaking Hollywood norm by inviting you to watch his latest opus, not in theaters, but via digital rental.

His latest project is called "In Your Eyes," it's a supernatural romance which he wrote and executive produced (Brin Hill directed it), and it stars Zoe Kazan, Michael Stahl-David, Nikki Reed, Mark Feuerstein, Jennifer Grey, and Steve Howey.

Right after the film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, Whedon made the announcement (check out his video below).

You can see "In Your Eyes" by clicking here and for only $5.00! How cool is that?

Here's Whedon's special announcement about "In Your Eyes"
