Channing Tatum Loves Playing Soldiers Because...

Channing Tatum says he's happy to star as a soldier in the upcoming military drama "Dear John" because he doesn't believe Hollywood portrays them accurately!

Tatum says, "I sort of became infatuated with soldiers. I got to know some of them and got a little perturbed with Hollywood making a spectacle out of them and making them look like they have screwed up somehow."

Oh you mean, like your character in "Stop-Loss?"

The actor reveals, "(In Stop-Loss) everything that was coming out of my mouth, I didn't believe. A soldier is so noble in my mind."

Hence, he's playing another soldier in "Dear John" to atone.

But wait, what about your soldier character in the upcoming action flick, "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra?"

In the Hasbro-based film, Channing is starring as Duke, a field commander and second-in-command of the G.I. Joe Team.

Hhhhmmm, I guess in that film Channing gets to act heroic and noble? We'll have to wait and see!
