"Spider-Man" the Musical Cast Announced! Peter Parker Still Missing, But Who's Rumored for the Part?

We have been speculating for months, but now, it's official! Evan Rachel Wood will play Mary Jane Watson in the upcoming Broadway spectacle "Spider-Man, Turn Off the Dark." Meanwhile, Alan Cumming will play the role of Norman Osborn aka the Green Goblin, the big bad!

Wood will don the role that Kirsten Dunst made famous in the "Spider-Man" franchise, while Cumming will reprise on stage Willem Dafoe's character in the first film.

(Check out the article we first posted back in February about "Spider-Man" the musical right here)

And the official title will be "Spider-Man, Turn Off the Dark." U2's Bono and the Edge will provide music and lyrics, while Julie Traymor is attached to direct. Check the musical's official site right here.

You won't be able to see this on Broadway until Feb. 25, 2010 though, and right now, the search is on for the actor to play Peter Parker aka Spider-Man! But Wood's co-star in "Across the Universe," Jim Sturgess, is being mentioned for the part. What do you think?

The musical will open at the Hilton Theater, and if you go to their website right now, you can actually buy tickets!
