"Precious" Tops Toronto Film Festival! Is It This Year's "Slumdog Millionaire?"

"Precious, Based on the Novel, 'Push' by Sapphire," Lee Daniels' inner-city drama took home the 34th Toronto Film Festival's People's Choice award!

"Precious" already won the Sundance's grand jury, audience, and acting for Mo'Nique (she's poised to win Best Supporting Actress Oscar!) so yeah, the film is headed to the Academy Awards.

Last year's Toronto Film Fest winner, "Slumdog Millionaire," swept the Academy Awards, expect "Precious" to get love this Oscar season. And the film has the magic touch of Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry. Both are executive producers of the movie.
