"The Princess and the Frog" Hops Atop Box Office! 


"The Princess and the Frog," Disney's return to hand-drawn animation, leaps to No. 1 with $25 million, beating previous weekend's champ, "The Blind Side."

The Sandra Bullock starrer fell to No. 2 with $15.5 million. So far, the inspiring film already made $150.2 million at the box office. Many insiders are saying that "The Blind Side" is on its way to a domestic total of $230 million.

Released by Warner Bros. and opened the same weekend as "The Twilight Saga: New Moon," "The Blind Side" continues its stronghold while the "Twilight" sequel fell to No. 4 with $8 million weekend, raising its domestic haul to $267.4 million.

The No. 3 spot belonged to Clint Eastwood's "Invictus" earning $9.1 million at the box office. The film stars Morgan Freeman as Nelson Mandela who uses rugby to help unite his apartheid-torn country. Matt Damon co-stars as the captain of the rugby team, Francoise Pienaar.

1. "The Princess and the Frog," $25 million.
