Confirmed! Johnny Depp, Director Rob Marshall to Reteam for "The Thin Man!"

Back in October of last year, we told you that Johnny Depp was collaborating with Rob Marshall to develop a remake of the private eye classic "The Thin Man" for Warner Bros. The actor and the director were going for the "Sherlock Holmes" vibe with the project retaining its period setting but with a contemporary feel. (See Johnny Depp Wants to Remake "The Thin Man!")

It's now confirmed! Depp and Marshall will reteam for "The Thin Man." The two just finished "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" for Disney which the studio will be releasing on May 20.

Here's the full press release:

MAY 09, 2011 (New York, NY) – Rob Marshall and John DeLuca have officially signed on to the Warner Bros. planned remake of THE THIN MAN. The pair will produce the film via their LUCAMAR Productions banner. Award-winning director Marshall is also confirmed to direct. The film will reteam Marshall with Johnny Depp, who is attached to star in the project.
