"Interview with the Vampire" Director Returns to Bloodsucker Genre with "Byzantium"  

Director Neil Jordan is set to return to the vampire genre with his upcoming film "Byzantium." According to the Hollywood Reporter, the director is teaming up with producer Stephen Wooley for the new bloodsucker film which focuses on a mother and daughter vampires.

Both Jordan and Wooley have corralled Saoirse Ronan ("Hanna") and Gemma Arterton ("Clash of the Titans") for the film. Moira Buffini wrote the original script which tells the story of the mommy vampire who turns her own daughter into a bloodsucking creature. The film is set to shoot in October with a budget of $11 million.

Jordan gave us "Interview with the Vampire" in 1994 starring Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, Christian Slater, and a very young but very memorable Kirsten Dunst as the little vampire Claudia.
