Get Ready for "Les Miserables" the Movie! Hugh Jackman May Star!
Like many of you, I love "Les Miserables" the musical! The Cameron Mackintosh production, with help from French writing team of Claude-Michel Schönberg and Alain Boublil, is a brilliant staging of Victor Hugo's classic.
Now, Tom Hooper, the Academy Award-winning director of "The King's Speech," is set to direct the Universal and Working Title's big-screen adaptation and Hugh Jackman may star, according to The Hollywood Reporter. William Nicholson wrote the script.
Jackman is in talks to play Jean Valjean, the guardian of Cosette. The 19th century French rebellion is the backdrop of this masterpiece.
