"The Help" Dominates SAG Awards, "Boardwalk Empire" and "Modern Family" Triumph! Check Out Complete Winners List!

"The Help" just received more help from the Screen Actors Guild, propelling the Oscar-nominated flick on top of the heap. Viola Davis took home the Best Actress trophy while Octavia Spencer won the Best Supporting Actress award. "The Help" also received the Best Acting Ensemble award at the 18th Annual SAG Awards.

It's a fitting recognition for a film that has a stronger cast rather than a powerful script or direction. When I first saw the film, my complaint was the by-the-numbers script, but I praised the acting ensemble for they rose above and beyond the screenplay.

Meanwhile, Jean Dujardin of "The Artist" surprised everyone by winning the Best Actor award. I honestly thought that George Clooney from "The Descendants" would win the trophy, but alas. This just made the Best Actor Oscar category totally unpredictable!

And I love that Christopher Plummer won the Best Supporting Actor award for "Beginners." He will win the same category on Oscar night.
