Will Ferrell and his "Anchorman" gang will stay classy for another sequel. The comedian confirmed the news when he stopped by Conan O'Brien's talk show. In full character! (See video below)
Ferrell admitted that Paramount Pictures has officially greenlit a sequel to the successful and super-funny 2004 comedy "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy."
We've all known that a sequel is in the works. As the Huffington Post reported, Ferrell and director Adam Mckay first tinkered with a Broadway spectacle which would eventually migrate to the big screen. But Paramount nixed the idea. Why? The studio didn't like the outer space setting! That's right, our favorite characters will be catapulted to infinity and beyond for the sequel. But when "The Other Guys," directed by McKay and starring Ferrell, made $170 million at the box-office, Paramount reconsidered. So the big question -- will this sequel still be set in outer space?
Here's what we know right now, the original cast of Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, and David Koechner will be back to reprise their roles, Judd Apatow will once again produce, and McKay will be back on the director's chair.
See the video below of Ferrell playing a mean flute at Conan's talk show, and saying these words, "There will be a sequel to 'Anchorman."
