Let's Go to Where the Air is Sweet! "Sesame Street' Movie in the Works!

Sunny day is sweeping the clouds away for "Sesame Street" fans.

20th Century Fox has picked up the movie rights to the beloved children's television show and has hired longtime "Street" writer, Joey Mazzarino, to pen the script according to Heat Vision.

This would not be the first big screen version of "Sesame Street." In 1985, "Follow That Bird" was released featuring John Candy, Chevy Chase, and Dave Thomas. And in 1999, "The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland" was released.

Now, with the success of "The Muppets," FOX seems to think that it's the right time to bring out our favorite residents of "Sesame Street" such as Big Bird, Bert and Ernie, Grover, Oscar the Grouch, Cookie Monster and Elmo.

Shawn Levy ("Date Night," "Night at the Museum," "Real Steel") is attached to produce but will he direct and tell us how to get to "Sesame Street?" Stay tuned...
