EDITORS (ACE) ANNOUNCED NOMINATIONS -- WHICH FILMS MADE THE FINAL CUT? 
The American Cinema Editors announced their nominees for the 58th annual Eddie Awards (wow, they've been handing out awards for 58 years!).

The Eddie Awards honor editing achievement in film, documentary, television, and reality television categories.

Winners will be announced on Feb. 16th at the Beverly Hilton. It's non-televised though, but I'll post the winners right here, so stay tuned.

RESPECTED CHINESE DIRECTOR ARRESTED ON DRUG CHARGES!!! 


No silly, we're not talking about Ang Lee, he's Taiwanese, we're talking about the visionary director who made his reputation with 1993's "Beijing Bastards" and created the first Chinese gay-themed flick "East Palace, West Palace."

He won best director at the 1999 Venice Film Festival for the family drama "Seventeen Years" while the semi-autobiographical "Little Red Flowers" won kudos at the Berlinale.

In 1994, Time Magazine named Zhang one of 100 young world leaders for the 21st century.

And now, according to reports, he tested positive for crystal meth!

Amy Ryan, the lower-class Boston momma who lost her child in "Gone Baby Gone" and is posed to duke it out with Cate Blanchett from "I'm Not There" for the Best Supporting Actress Oscar has a new film!

She is going to co-star with Matt Damon and Greg Kinnear, to be directed by the groundbreaking helmer, Mister Paul Greengrass of "United 93" and "The Bourne Ultimatum" fame.

The film, still untitled, is an Iraq war thriller that's being shot in Spain for Universal Pictures!

The Coen brothers better clear their awards mantel because "No Country for Old Men" is getting more awards by the gazillions everyday!

The film was the big winner at the 11th annual Online Film Critics Society Awards.
