She just signed on to star opposite John C. Reilly in the horror drama "Cirque du Freak" from Universal Pictures. This is her first film since giving birth.
The actress has signed on to star opposite John C. Reilly in Universal Pictures’ horror drama “Cirque du Freak,” which will mark her first acting role since her maternity leave.
Paul Weitz will be directing, and the production is set to begin next month.
Based on the bestselling children's series by Darren Shan, Reilly will play a vampire who drafts a 14-year-old to serve as his assistant. The youth is turned into a half-vampire and becomes the catalyst in a battle between vampires and the rival Vampanese.
Hayek will play Madame Truska, yes, the bearded lady.

Right now, Christian Bale is in talks to possibly join Johnny Depp in the new film to be directed by Michael Mann.
The movie is going to be called "Public Enemies" and will be based on actual events.
Bale will play Melvin Purvis, the legendary FBI agent who led the manhunt for John Dillinger. You guessed it, Depp will play Dillinger.
The film will be produced by Universal, and is set to start shooting in March.
