"STAR TREK" OFFICIAL SITE LAUNCHED!

I woke up this morning to find an email from Paramount Pictures about their new "Star Trek" reboot!

They said new official site launched, so I went, but it's still under construction. But, we now know it's going to be released Dec. 25, 2008!!!

Here are more info:

If you watch that monster movie, "Cloverfield," you will see the new "Star Trek" trailer.

You can also see the very first image from STAR TREK over on AOL/Moviefone

But there's only one picture (the new Enterprise), and we pretty much now know about the cast.

"JUSTICE LEAGUE" THE MOVIE -- CANCELLED...FOR NOW...

Warner Bros. is putting the pic on indefinite hold.

The reasons? Not getting official response for tax breaks shooting in Australia, and that darned Writers strike! Apparently, the studio liked the script, but it needed a bit of a tweaking (translation -- the script sucked!).

Cast members were informed that more than likely, the shoot for "Justice League" will resume either late summer or fall.

Some of the signed cast members are Adam Brody (The Flash), Armie Hammer Jr. (Batman), and Megan Gale (Wonder Woman).

George Miller of "Mad Max" and "Babe" fame is supposed to direct.

Let's keep our fingers crossed that production on this film will resume, because, I'm such a fanboy geek!!!

THE BEST COSTUMES IN 2007!!! NOMINATIONS ANNOUNCED!!!

"Elizabeth: The Golden Age" is one of the nominees for "period films" honors at the 10th annual Costume Designers Guild Awards.

For the most part, most of the nominees deserve their honors, but, "Into the Wild?" I love this film (it placed number 4 on my fave list), but what costume? Emile Hirsch was pretty much in his grungy, near-naked glory for the most of the film.

What about the candy-colored costumes in "Hairspray?"

Oh well...

The good news -- the alluring Anjelica Huston will host the award show on Feb. 19 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel.

"ATONEMENT" LEADS BAFTA NOMINATIONS!!!

As expected, "Atonement" leads the nominations for the British Academy Film Awards, grabbing a total of 14 mentions!!!

Meanwhile, "No Country for Old Men" and "There Will Be Blood" each received 9 nominations.

I love "Atonement," it placed number 3 on my Top 10 Best Films of 2007, and it's safe to predict that it will win Best Picture at the BAFTA!!!

Winners will be announced February 10th.
