"Slumdog Millionaire" is the one to beat this Oscar season! This time, the Alliance of Women Film Journalists awarded the movie its highest honor -- Best Picture of their EDA (Excellent Dynamic Activism) Awards.
Sean Penn also scored a Best Actor win for "Milk."
But my favorite categories of the EDA Awards? Their Special Mention Awards with fun categories like the Hall Of Shame Award ("27 Dresses") or Actress Most in Need Of A New Agent Award (gasp, Kate Hudson).
The Alliance of Women Film Journalists is a great organization with members who are "highly qualified professional female movie critics, reporters and feature writers working in print, broadcast and online media."

Right after helming the upcoming "Terminator: Salvation," McG is set to direct the family film "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: Captain Nemo" for Walt Disney Pictures.
The studio's first-ever live-action film was the 1954 original "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea." This time around, the planned film will be an "origin" type of story delving more into the Captain Nemo character and how he created his warship, the Nautilus.
So this movie will only have its characters based on the Jules Verne novel, and not the story itself.
Disney is aiming to put this film in production this year.

Fresh from his "Wrestler" triumph, Mickey Rourke has joined the cast of "The Expendables" to be directed by Sylvester Stallone.
Stallone also wrote the script.

The other "Expendables" are Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Randy Couture, and Dolph Rundgren. Forest Whitaker and Ben Kingsley are still weighing whether to join the cast or not.
