So Jackie Chan Will be Mr. Miyagi in "Karate Kid" Remake!

As we reported back in November, Jaden Smith ("The Day the Earth Stood Still") is the new "Karate Kid." Sorry Ralph Macchio.

Now, reports are surfacing that Jackie Chan will play the mentor, Mr. Miyagi. As you may remember, the unforgettable Pat Morita took on that role in the original franchise. So Chan has very big shoes to fill.

But isn't the character Miyagi supposed to be Japanese? Just asking...

No Money, No Nick Fury

Samuel L. Jackson, who's the perfect Nick Fury, has been heard saying "there seems to be an economic crisis in the Marvel Comics world."

Huh. No money means no Nick Fury for Jackson! Remember how Marvel unceremoniously dumped Terrence Howard from "Iron Man 2" because of money issues as well?

Ah, we're living in a material world, and we're all just material girls and boys...apparently.

CBS Films Hires Brendan Fraser for First Film!

CBS Films is ready to produce their first film! The movie is based on Geeta Anand's book "The Cure" from a script by Robert Nelson Jacobs.

Brendan Fraser will star opposite Harrison Ford in this medical drama to be directed by Tom Vaughan ("What Happens in Vegas"). Huh? Vaughan will go from a trifling comedy to a drama? Hhhmmmm, good luck!

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the plot of the film is:

Fraser will play John Crowley, the father of two children who were diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder for which he's told there is no cure. Unbowed, he seeks out the help of an experimental and sometimes irascible doctor (Ford) who works to find a way to save the children's lives. The roles of Fraser's wife and kids have not been cast in what CBS is calling its untitled Crowley project.

Fraser will be next seen on New Line's "Inkheart." I will be posting my interviews with him, co-stars Eliza Bennett and Paul Bettany, and director Iain Softley very soon!
