First it was a John W. Campbell Jr. short story called "Who Goes There." Then, it became a 1951 Howard Hawks film call "The Thing From Another World."
Then, John Carpenter put his own stamp of paranoid horror to the short story in the 1982 flick simply called "The Thing."
Now, Universal is bringing back "The Thing" with a whole new vision! "Battlestar Galactica" executive producer, Ron Moore, is writing the script, and Matthijs Van Heijningen, famous for directing commercials for Toyota and Pepsi among others, is set to helm.
"The Thing" is one of my guilty pleasures, and it brings back my memory as a child entranced with watching horror flicks! So, this is kind of exciting!

The wintry New Ulm, Minnesota is the setting of the film “New in Town.” But this supposed warm romantic comedy left me cold like its arctic backdrop.
Renee Zelwegger stars as Lucy Hill, an ambitious female executive based in Miami. She’s trying desperately to climb the corporate ladder so when the opportunity arrives for her to ascend, she gladly takes it.
But that opportunity will make Lucy move from the warm Miami to the blistery cold New Ulm. What’s a tropical girl to do? Read More...

Is the world really ready for a new "Lara Croft" film? Have we already forgotten Angelina Jolie in the role?
Warner Bros. seem to think so, the studio is working with producer Dan Lin to reboot the "Tomb Raider" franchise!
Paramount previously created the first two films with Jolie, but their rights have expired, and Time Warner scooped the franchise back up!
According to The Hollywood Reporter:
The new project, however, is expected to revamp the character and her mission and bear little resemblance to the original pictures. It will reimagine the origins of the character, her love interest and the main villain.
No word yet on writer and director, and I feel pity for the actress going to be cast as Croft. She has pretty big shoes to fill!

This was THE story last week. Dakota Fanning was in talks to star as Jane, the Volturi vampire in the "Twilight" sequel, "New Moon."
This got me excited! I can totally picture her in the role!
Our friends from ShockTillYouDrop.com spoke with Fanning and confirmed the rumors.
"I really hope that works out," she says. "I think it's too soon to tell right now, but it'd be really fun. I'm a huge fan."
Too soon to tell? Oh please Miss Dakota, accept the part, and I heard that director Chris Weitz really, really want you too! So be Jane, and give the sequel some acting credibility
