From "Road Warrior" to "Cold Warrior," Mel Gibson's Latest Project

Mel Gibson is in talks to star in Universal's "Cold Warrior." If the deal goes through, the actor will reteam with his "Lethal Weapon" scriptwriter Shane Black.

Black is set to direct this time (Have you seen his 2005 "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" film? You should! It's good!) from a script by Charles Mondry.

Gibson is under negotiations to play a Cold War spy who comes out of retirement and joins a younger agent to fight domestic terrorism threat from Russia. It's one of those "this will be my last job" type of movies until our hero finds out the supposed last job is far more dangerous than he thought.

This film supports Gibson's plan to return in front of the cameras. "Edge of Darkness," his first film in 8 years (his last on-screen performance was 2002's "Signs") opens this Friday.

Gibson is also starring in the upcoming black comedy "The Beaver" from director Jodie Foster, and is setting up to shoot his Mexican-prison-set thriller "How I Spent My Summer Vacation."

George Lucas Making a Musical About....don't giggle...FAIRIES!

George Lucas, the "Star Wars" creator, one of the sci-fi pioneers, is embarking on his first musical, and it's going to be about cute, cuddly fairies!

You don't mention George Lucas' name together with "musicals" let alone "fairies!"

Apparently, this is a top-secret CGI-animated film and it's currently in preproduction at Skywalker Ranch.

The Hollywood Reporter told us that "plot details are locked tighter than the plans for the Death Star, but one element known is that the script features fairies."

Currently, Lucas is attached to produce with Kevin Munroe directing the CGI musical. Munroe previously helmed "TMNT," the fourth installment of the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" franchise.

David Berenbaum, the scriptwriter behind "Elf" and "The Spiderwick Chronicles" wrote the screenplay.

At least Lucas is doing something outside of the "Star Wars" world. He's working on post-production of "Red Tails" about the Tuskegee Airmen. He wrote the script for that film and is doing double duty as executive producer.

Sam Worthington to Star as Dracula

"Avatar's" Sam Worthington is in talks to star in "Dracula Year Zero" for Universal Pictures. Alex Proyas ("Knowing") is set to direct.

The film will once again explore the origin of Dracula, mixing vampire myths with the true-life story of Prince Vlad the Impaler. The Hollywood Reporter is saying that "It seeks to depict Dracula as a flawed hero in a tragic love story set in a dark age of magic and war."

There is no start date set yet, and it is still considered in development.

"When in Rome" Movie Review! How Many Kisses Do Kristen Bell and Josh Duhamel Get?

Rome is such an enchanting city that it plays a major role in the new film “When in Rome,” a romantic comedy with a magical twist. The Italian city helps to add charm to an otherwise predictable movie.

The other city playing a major role in the film is New York. That is where we first meet Beth, played by the always-charming Kristen Bell. She’s an ambitious, young curator at the Guggenheim Museum in Manhattan. She’s also unlucky in love. Read More...

Director Tom Ford Talks About "A Single Man!" Such Passion!

I truly enjoyed the powerful film "A Single Man," the debut of writer-director Tom Ford who gained international fame for his turnaround of the Gucci fashion house and the creation of the Tom Ford label.

Based on the book by Christopher Isherwood, "A Single Man" tells the story of George Falconer (memorably played by Colin Firth) who's trying to find meaning in his life after the sudden death of his longtime partner, Jim (Matthew Goode).

Firth will be nominated for a Best Actor Oscar for his searing portrayal. Julianne Moore also mesmerizes as George's friend Charley.

Try to catch "A Single Man" in theaters.

In this interview, Ford and I talked about:

*** WHY HE CHOSE TO WORK ON "A SINGLE MAN"
*** HIS PASSION FOR THE FILM
*** WORKING WITH COLIN FIRTH AND JULIANNE MOORE
*** THE AESTHETIC QUALITIES OF "A SINGLE MAN"
*** WHAT'S NEXT FOR TOM FORD?

Have fun!
