“Transit” Interview and Review – Proud of our Filipino Filmmakers

First-time feature film director, Hannah Espia, was elated when I caught up with her! My fellow Filipino was visiting Palm Springs for the annual Film Festival where her film, “Transit,” was making its North American Premiere. I interviewed Miss Espia, alongside her producer, Paul Soriano. The film is being helped by veteran Hollywood producer, Dean Devlin (“Independence Day,” “Godzilla”), reach more audience. Because truthfully, “Transit” is so good, it simply needs to be viewed! “Transit” was Philippines’ submission to the Academy Awards for the Best Foreign Language film category.

Here's the interview/review that appeared on ANC in the Philippines:

Here's what appeared on The Filipino Channel's (TFC) Balitang America:

New Zealand Director Max Currie Interview for “Everything We Loved”

My fun interview with New Zealand director Max Currie for his art-house drama “Everything We Loved” which had its North American premiere at the 2014 Palm Springs International Film Festival. The film is beautifully shot even though the subject is dark and haunting. Take a look at my fun interview with the first time feature film director.

Here's my raw, uncut interview with the director:

And this is the one that appeared on the NBC affiliate in Palm Springs and my home, KMIR:

Winners of 2014 Golden Globe Awards -- the Predictable and Unpredictable!

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association celebrated the best in movies and TV in 2013 with the 71st annual Golden Globes Awards. True to its form, the awards night was a bit unpredictable ("Brooklyn 99" beating "Modern Family" and "Girls" for Best Comedy Series, or "Wolf of Wall Street's" Leonardo DiCaprio winning over Bruce Dern in "Nebraska" or Oscar Isaac for "Inside Llewyn Davis") and predictable ("12 Years a Slave" taking home the Best Film trophy or Cate Blanchett winning Best Actress Drama for "Blue Jasmine").

But it was a fun night with the dynamic duo of Tina Fey and Amy Poehler (who won Best Comedy Actress for "Parks and Recreation") returning as hosts for the second time. There were really no dramas in the evening, except for a few cuss words, and as predicted, Woody Allen did not show up to accept his Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement award.

I had a great time blogging the night on my Facebook page, so join me there for the Oscars! Oh, and go to my Facebook page to see my remarks in many categories!
