Okay y'all, it's now a sure bet! "Slumdog Millionaire's" Danny Boyle will win the Academy Awards for Best Director! Why? Because his comrades, the Directors Guild of America bestowed him as the best of the best of 2008!
Boyle was chosen over David Fincher ("The Curious Case of Benjamin Button"), Ron Howard ("Frost/Nixon"), Christopher Nolan (Yeah, the DGA nominated him for "The Dark Knight"), and Gus Van Sant ("Milk").
The best part for me? My hero, my inspiration, my own personal icon, Roger Ebert was given the DGA Honorary Life Member Award in recognition of outstanding creative achievement. Congratulations Mister Roger!!!!

"Kung Fu Panda" won big at the 2009 Annie Awards!
The Kung Fu-fighting cuddly Panda won 15 out of the 24 Annie Awards categories!
Take that "Wall-E" and "Bolt!"
The Disney properties, including the critically-acclaimed "Wall-E" didn't feel the love.
Heck, even "Kung Fu Panda's" DVD-extra, "Secrets of the Furious Five" won. So yeah, the animators really, really love the Dreamworks Animations flick! And who can blame them?
Everybody wants Kung Fu fighting indeed! Congratulations to Dreamworks and all the winners!

All for the sake of art! But I froze my booty off!
It's too damn cold up there, and it's still snowing. But isn't that cool? Desert below, snow up top!
I chose that location, because you know, "New in Town" is set in cold New Ulm, Minnesota, so I figured I'd shoot my review with a little snow fun

All I can say is, it's about damn time!
Puss in Boots stole the show in the second "Shrek" and since then, I was waiting for a spin-off!
Well, TV writer Tom Wheeler has just been hired to write the film, that will feature the one and only famous feline. No ogre or donkeys allowed!
But in the meantime, we have to contend with a fourth "Shrek" film simply titled "Shrek Goes Fourth." It sounds like a porn title
But the big question is -- will Antonio Banderas return for the "Puss in Boots" film? 'Cause honestly, he WAS and IS Puss in Boots!

Twentieth Century Fox is turning classic literary on us! First, the news that they're saving "The Chronicles of Narnia" franchise by agreeing to make the third film, "Voyage of the Dawn Treader."
Now, the studio is making a reimagining of the classic Jonathan Swift novel, "Gulliver's Travels" starring Jack Black.
All together now...HUH?
Jack Black in "Gulliver's Travels?" Why, and what role is he playing?
According to Variety:
Black was set late last year to play Lemuel Gulliver, a travel writer who takes an assignment to the Bermuda Triangle and washes up on the island of Lilliput, where he's a giant among the tiny population.
Emily Blunt ("The Devil Wears Prada") is in talks to play a Lilliputian princess, while Jason Segel ("Forgetting Sarah Marshall") may play Horatio, Gulliver's best friend from Lilliput who helps rescue Gulliver.
Oh yeah, and incidentally, it's official! Blunt had been offered the role of Black Widow in "Iron Man 2."
She'll play the Russian superspy named Natasha Romanoff and her alter-ego, Black Widow.
The biggest problem the actress is facing right now is trying to fit both films in her very busy schedule!
Meanwhile, the super-sweet Jason Segel is reteaming with his "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" director Nicholas Stoller who co-wrote "Gulliver's Travels" with Joe Stillman.
Hhhmmmmm, I'm seeing this very clearly now. They're turning "Gulliver" into a quasi-comedy involving a giant and his little peeps. That may be funny, specially with this pedigree!
