This sounds exciting! According to Production Weekly, "Quantum of Solace's" director Marc Forster is thinking of directing a Kurt Cobain film for Universal.
Forster made Halle Berry an Oscar winner for "Monster's Ball," and helped Johnny Depp score a Best Actor nomination for "Finding Neverland."
So Forster has a good track record, even though I wasn't a big fan of the last Bond film. It is still unclear though whether this Cobain project is the one Courtney Love is producing based on the biography "Heavier than Heaven."
Love is, of course, Cobain's widow, and yes, actor James McAvoy was once rumored to star as the late Nirvana singer.
Oh, and Love wanted Scarlett Johansson to play her.

Shia LaBeouf's star vehicle, John Grisham's "The Associate," will be written by "The Departed's" William Monahan!
Monahan won an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay in the Martin Scorsese crime drama. "The Associate" is right up Monahan's alley -- blackmails and sordid secrets!

Lots of new DVD releases for Tuesday, 02/17/09. Here they are:
"Body of Lies" starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe. This is not the best film from director Ridley Scott, but DiCaprio and Crowe make it all worthwhile.
"Choke" -- I love this film! Based on the book by Chuck Palahniuk, Sam Rockwell is a marvel, and Anjelica Huston, as always, is divine! Check out my interviews with the cast and crew here.
"High School Musical 3" -- a feel good romp through senior year for our favorite high schoolers. Check out my review of the film right here.
"Changeling" -- This your chance to watch Angelina Jolie's Oscar-nominated turn from director Clint Eastwood. Check out my review right here.
"Miracle at St. Anna" -- Spike Lee's World War II drama is overwrought and feels overextended, but it's still a great history lesson!
"Flash of Genius" -- This is quiet and meditative. Check out my review here, and my interviews with the cast and crew right here.
MY DVD PICK OF THE WEEK!
"Religulous" -- Bill Maher teamed up with "Borat" director Larry Charles for this witty documentary about God and religion. The film is both funny and thought-provoking, and will open up your eyes.

As we reported back in January, Emily Blunt was offered the role of the mysterious Russian superspy Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow for "Iron Man 2."
But, Blunt's commitment to "Gulliver's Travels" may prevent her from co-starring in the Marvel sequel.
Now, Entertainment Weekly is exclusively reporting that Johansson has met with the filmmakers and is interested in taking the role.
Here's the full article, and fanboys, start fantasizing!
Because Emily Blunt's commitment to Twentieth Century Fox and the studio's upcoming Gulliver's Travels movie may prohibit her from costarring in Iron Man 2, Marvel is in discussions with other actresses, most significantly Scarlett Johansson, to take her place, EW has learned exclusively. Marvel will not confirm, but sources around Hollywood say Johansson has indeed met with the filmmakers and is interested in taking the role of Russian superspy Natasha Romanoff, who doubles as Black Widow. Blunt's reps are still trying to make both projects work, but Gulliver's is further along, with a start date of April 15. Iron Man 2 still doesn't have a shooting script and a start date has not yet been determined.
