Joaquin Phoenix has been reduced to being a tabloid fodder. His announcement to quit from acting to become a rap artist has brought punch lines to numerous late-night talk shows.
But before you jump on the “Joaquin-Phoenix-is-Crazy” bandwagon, let me remind you of Joaquin Phoenix, the actor twice nominated for the Academy Awards. Surely you remember his scene-stealing performance in “Gladiator” as Commodus, or when he successfully channeled Johnny Cash in “Walk the Line.”
In his supposed last film, “Two Lovers,” Phoenix brilliantly displays raw talent seldom seen from an actor of his age. The film is a romantic drama elevated by the actor’s performance. Read More...

Remember the 1985 crapfest "Clue?" Well, our friends from Universal wants to make another movie version of the popular board game, but this time, they're bringing along a talented director and producer! "Pirates of the Caribbean's" Gore Verbinksi!
This is the latest Hasbro property to be turned into a movie. Universal signed a pact with the toy company, after seeing the profitable impact brought upon by "Transformers" (another Hasbro property) to Paramount.
The following is a long-list of Hasbro-based films:
"G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra" -- for Paramount, coming to theaters Aug. 7th of this year
"Stretch Armstrong" -- yeah, good, old Stretch Armstrong, for Universal, which is currently being written by "Evan Almighty's" Steve Oedekerk
"Monopoly" -- another one for Universal, which Ridley Scott is attached to direct
"Candyland" -- "Tropic Thunder's" Etan Cohen is writing, and "Enchanted's" Kevin Lima is directing, again for Universal
"Ouija" -- oooooh, the infamous Ouija board, is being produced by Michael Bay (who else?) and his Platinum Dunes company
No word yet on who's going to play Professor Plum, Ms. White, Col. Mustard, Miss Peacock, Mr. Green or Ms. Scarlet, and who will be using a knife, rope, candlestick, wrench, pistol or a lead pipe to murder!

Michel Gondry, the guy who gave us "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" and "Be Kind Rewind" among others, has been hired by Columbia to direct "The Green Hornet."
Seth Rogen, who co-wrote the script with Evan Goldberg, is playing the title character, and Stephen Chow ("Kung Fu Hustle") is still set to play his sidekick, Kato.
Chow, who was set to direct until he bowed out last December, decided to remain in the film as an actor.
But this won't stop fanboys from speculating whether Chow will leave the film completely!
I love Gondry's sensibilities as a director, and I can't wait to see the fruit of his pairing with Rogen!

So Mister Heath won a much-deserved Best Supporting Actor Oscar, but what's in store for his last film, Terry Gilliam's ""The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus?"
As you may have heard, Jude Law, Colin Farrell, and Johnny Depp stepped in, to help finish the movie that was caught in the middle of Ledger's untimely death.
So, what's going on with it? Why is it taking so long to be released? Is it done?
Find out, right here.
