Matt Damon to Play Robert F. Kennedy? is saying that Matt Damon is "thisclose to starring as the nearest thing we've got to American royalty: a Kennedy. Specifically, Robert F. Kennedy."

It's not a done deal yet, but apparently Damon is attached to play RFK but it will all depend on the final script, which has not yet been written. The film will be based on Evan Thomas' Robert Kennedy: His Life.

EOnline is further saying that Damon's "already got the accent down. Not to mention the politics." True that!

¡Andale! ¡Andale! ¡Arriba! ¡Arriba! George Lopez to Voice "Speedy Gonzales"

New Line Cinema is getting ready to make a big screen version of "Speedy Gonzales" and "Garfield" writers Alec Sokolow and Joel Cohen are penning the script.

George Lopez is attached to voice Speedy.

The Hollywood Reporter told us that this will be a live-action/CG hybrid feature.

I used to love this cartoon, but isn't it too politically incorrect for our times, albeit racist? I doubt if Speedy's lazy cousin Slowpoke Rodriguez will be featured.

Apparently, New Line is aware of this, so the producers are updating "the brand with a modernized sensibility (it takes place in present day) under what Anne Lopez calls George's "Latino seal of approval." (No need to throw fuel on the fire that serves as an immigration debate in this country.)"

Anne Lopez, one of the producers, told THR that, "Speedy's going to be a misunderstood boy who comes from a family that works in a very meticulous setting, and he's a little too fast for what they do. He makes a mess of that. So he has to go out in the world to find what he's good at."

So Speedy befriends a race-car driver. Problem solved!

This is kinda, sorta interesting, but I'm afraid that Speedy will now be relegated to the "Beverly Hills Chihuahua" world, no?

Jennifer Garner, Anna Faris to Attend "The Bachelorette Party"

Jennifer Garner and Anna Faris are set to party it up "The Hangover" style in "The Bachelorette Party!"

Based on a novel by Karen McCullah Lutz, the premise is described by Booklist as:

Zadie Roberts was literally left standing at the altar by her now famous soap-star fiance. Even though it was more than six months ago, the last thing she wanted was to be associated with anything bridal. So, when her best friend, Grey, announces that he is engaged to Zadie's conservative and beautiful cousin, Helen, Zadie's life hits a new low--he wants Zadie to get Helen to loosen up a little at the bachelorette party. Not even sure if the prim and proper Helen knows how to have fun, Zadie reluctantly promises to show her a good time. But when the posh, sedate party goes off track and Helen throws her good-girl image out the window for a night of drinking, debauchery, and maybe even one last fling, Zadie is sure this wasn't what Grey had in mind and is torn as to what to tell him about Helen's behavior. Don't look for more than an easy read, mindless fun, and proof that women can be just as raunchy as men.

It's unclear which characters Garner and Faris will play, but I'm guessing Zadie will be Faris and the conservative Helen will be Garner.

Our friends at Pajiba told us that the script is written by the author, who was also responsible for writing the screenplay for "The House Bunny" and "The Ugly Truth."

Nicole Kidman was once attached to star, but she's a serious actress now, so pleazzze :happy

Did You Know That Matt Damon and Jake Gyllenhaal Were Approached for "Avatar?"

I didn't know this until today that "Avatar" director James Cameron contacted both Matt Damon and Jake Gyllenhaal about starring as Jake Sully in the biggest film in the universe!

Both actors turned the director down so he went with his first choice, then-unknown Sam Worthington, who, The Los Angeles Times told us, "was living in his car before he got the job." Wow! Really?

And apparently, Cameron offered the role to the bigger name stars to pacify studio bosses at Fox, but he really, really wanted Worthington. Good choice!

In true Cameron fashion, the filmmaker, talking about courting Damon and Gyllenhaal, said, “Honestly, did I go out and try to woo them? No. I had my heart set on Sam. Maybe they sensed my lack of 100% commitment from me. Maybe it was the subject matter. This was a big 'Star Wars'-type movie. They’re both serious actors.”

Good for Worthington, he had Cameron supporting him! To read the complete article, click here.

Jonah Hill Ready to Babysit!

Jonah Hill is set to star for "Pineapple Express" director David Gordon Green in "The Sitter."

The Hollywood Reporter told us that this comedy has shades of 1987's "Adventures in Babysitting." The plot revolves around "a college student, suspended for the semester and living at home with his single mom, who has a night to remember when he gets talked into baby-sitting the eccentric kids next door: two boys and a wild 8-year-old girl."

Once upon a time, "The Sitter" attracted the likes of Zac Efron and Zach Galifianakis, so where's Elizabeth Shue when you need her? :happy
