Eric Bana to Play Saoirse Ronan's Dad in Intriguing Action Thriller!

There are many intriguing elements in "Hanna," an upcoming action movie from Focus Features.

*** First, Eric Bana is returning to action, which is always a welcome treat

*** Saoirse Ronan -- yes, I love this young actress! She mesmerized us in "Atonement" and, she was great in "The Lovely Bones." And in "Hanna," she'll play a teenage assassin!

*** Ronan is returning to the loving arms of her "Atonement" director, Joe Wright

Seth Lochhead and David Farr wrote the script, and The Hollywood Reporter is saying that "Bana will play Ronan’s father in the story of a 14-year-old Eastern European girl saved from a CIA breeding camp and raised by her dad to be a cold-blooded killing machine. After finding peace with a French family, the girl is dragged back to her father’s world, and she must fight her way to a free life."

Get Ready for "Fast and Furious" Part Five! Now Known as "Fast Five!"

Universal Pictures made huge money with the last "Fast and Furious" that the studio has announced a fifth installment currently being called..."Fast Five." As opposed to "Furious Five," oh wait, that was from "Kung Fu Panda."

Variety is saying that the "studio has closed deals with Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, director Justin Lin and producer Neal Moritz to return to the franchise, which has become one of the studio's most lucrative."

The script is being written by long-time "Fast and Furious" scribe Chris Morgan and finds our heroes Dom (Diesel) and Brian (Walker) on the run from the long arms of the law.

Production is set to being later in the year for a 2011 release.

Dream of A True Love's Kiss Again! "Enchanted" Sequel Announced! See "The Proposal" Connection!

Walt Disney Pictures has announced plans for a sequel to "Enchanted!" Jessie Nelson who gave us "Because I Said So," "The Story of Us" and "Stepmom" is writing the script.

Anne Fletcher from "The Proposal" is attached to direct!

The first film, which was quite delightful, helped pushed Amy Adams' star power. She played Giselle, an animated princess who was banished by Susan Sarandon's evil queen into the live-action streets of Manhattan. James Marsden played her animated prince charming and Patrick Dempsey starred as Giselle's live-action sweetheart.

"Enchanted" made more than $340 million worldwide, hence, the sequel, which Variety is saying may open as early as next year. That's too soon for a film that's still in its pre-planning stages.

But the studio is hoping to bring back the first film's stars which I hoped they would because the movie worked due to their chemistry, especially Adams' wit, charm, and comedic timing.

Carrie Underwood's Big Screen Debut as...Church Lady!

From American Idol to country music superstar to movie star! Carrie Underwood is making her big screen debut in the film "Soul Surfer" starring Dennis Quaid, Helen Hunt, and AnnaSophia Robb.

The indie-drama is about teen surfing champ and shark attack survivor Bethany Hamilton. Based on Hamilton's autobiography, Robb will star as the surf champion who won professional championships after losing her arm in a shark attack at age 13. (Read Hamilton's wiki here, it's quite inspiring!)

Quaid and Hunt will star as Hamilton's parents, and Underwood will play a church youth leader.

"Soul Surfer" starts shooting this week in Hawaii from director Sean McNamara ("Bratz: The Movie" really?). The script is written by McNamara, Deborah Schwartz, Douglas Schwartz and Michael Berk.

Again I ask, from the guy who gave us "Bratz: The Movie"...really? Well, I hope the script is good, and that Underwood can act as well as she can sing!
