Milla Jovovich is set to host the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' Scientific and Technical Awards on Saturday, February 11. The "Fifth Element" and "Resident Evil" franchise star will present 10 awards to 30 individual recipients during the evening (full list below).
Jovovich will next be seen in "Resident Evil: Retribution."
Portions of the sci-tech awards will be included at the Oscars and will be presented on Sunday, February 26.

2012 Super Bowl Movie Trailers! Did You See Them All? If Not, Here's Your Chance! Which One's Your Favorite? But I digress.
We're here to talk about the boatload of movie trailers that were supposed to tease us. Were you teased? Which one is your favorite Super Bowl movie trailer?
My heart belonged to "The Avengers" even though the last shot of the trailer looked just like a bunch of people in funny costumes trying to save the world.
My least favorite? Do I really have to endure Jar Jar Binks again in "Star Wars: The Phantom Menace" 3D or not?
So without further adieu, I compiled all the Super Bowl 2012 movie trailers that you might have missed!

"Act of Valor"
This one is intriguing. Set to be released by Relativity Media on February 24th, "Act of Valor" talks about a discovery of a deadly terrorist plot against the U.S. So, a team of Navy Seals is dispatched on a worldwide manhunt. The gimmick? These are real life Navy Seals folks and NOT actors! Directors Mike McCoy and Scott Waugh used actual Navy Seals for this experiment. Will Alex Veadow and company deliver?
"The Avengers"
If you still think that this is an update of 1998's "The Avengers" starring Sean Connery and Uma Thurman, then you need to go back to the 90s! By now, we've been bombarded by the film's aggressive marketing campaign featuring all our favorite Marvel superheroes like Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Nick Fury (Samuel Jackson), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Captain America (Chris Evans), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson).
The best part about this Marvel extravaganza for me is director Joss Whedon who created one of the best shows in TV history, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." The film opens May 4th, and I'm soooo there!
"Battleship"
I'm still not quite sold on this "Transformers" meets "Titanic" by way of a Hasbro board game experiment from director Peter Berg ("Hancock"). The best thing about this? Seeing Rihanna in a Liam Neeson movie, yeah!

"The Dictator"
This film looks funny! Sacha Baron Cohen returns to the loving arms of his "Borat" and "Bruno" co-conspirator, Larry Charles, to talk about what else? The dictator, played by Cohen, from a foreign country who doesn't want democracy, period! "The Dictator" opens May 11:
"G.I. Joe: Retaliation"
I hated the first one, "Rise of the Cobra," so I'm very cautious when approaching this sequel. Channing Tatum (Captain Duke Hauser) is back and he's bringing Bruce Willis (Joe Colton) and Dwayne Johnson (Roadblock) with him. It's opening June 29th and this one's all about revenge! Aren't they all?
"The Hunger Games"
Dear Lionsgate, I hope this film is good! I have all the first printing/first edition of the Suzanne Collins books, and I want them to go up in value HA! But the cast is good headed by Jennifer Lawrence (Katniss) and Josh Hutcherson (Peeta). Heck, even Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Lenny Kravitz, and Wes Bentley (remember him?) show up! Gary Ross ("Seabiscuit") co-wrote and directed the movie, AND, Steven Soderbergh is credited with being a 2nd Unit director. The most anticipated movie of 2012 will be released on March 23rd:
"John Carter"
Director Andrew Stanton gave us "Wall-E" (love it!) and "Finding Nemo" (Love it too!) but can this Pixar veteran work his magic the same way Brad Bird did for his first live-action film "Mission: Impossible -- Ghost Protocol?"
I'm still lukewarm judging by the trailer with Taylor Kitsch as John Carter (he's also in the upcoming "Battleship"), a former military captain who's been transported to Mars. Honestly? This is like an update of "Flash Gordon" and that's not a good thing! We'll judge the movie properly when it opens on March 9:
"Dr. Seuss' The Lorax"
From the creators of "Despicable Me" comes this big screen adaptation. Much like "Despicable Me," this is a message movie about loving our environment. Zac Efron voices Ted, Taylor Swift is Audrey, Ed Helms is Once-ler, and Danny DeVito is Lorax. The best part about the trailer? DeVito! And we'll watch it because we all love Dr. Seuss! "The Lorax" opens on March 2nd:
"Star Wars: The Epic Saga"
Can someone please tell George Lucas not to ruin his "Star Wars" movies anymore? Don't re-edit them for a whole new generation! Let this whole new generation enjoyed the films the way they were intended! And really? I can't sit through another Jar Jar Binks so I'll skip the 3D re-release of "Star Wars: The Phantom Menace" this Friday, the 10th. I'll see you in 2014 when "Revenge of the Sith" gets re-released:

In the end, even Harry Potter aka Daniel Radcliffe was no match to a bunch of high school kids with superpowers at the Super Bowl weekend box office.
The found footage "Chronicle" was more powerful than "The Woman in Black" even by just $1 million bucks! "Chronicle" edged out the gothic horror flick with a $22 million win over "The Woman in Black's" $21 million.
I enjoyed both movies, and was happy to see the two films duking it out for box-office supremacy. (Check out my movie reviews of "Chronicle" and "The Woman in Black" right here)
Honestly, the final tally may switch since it's only a million bucks (I love it when I can say "only a million bucks" but that's only in the movies folks, in real life? Give me a million dollars now! Please?) that separates the two movies.
Another movie that surprised me was Universal's rescue adventure movie, "Big Miracle" but it was not quite as miraculous at the box-office. The film, starring John Krasinski and Drew Barrymore, tanked at No. 4 with $8.5 million.
Previous weekend's box office champ, "The Grey" starring Liam Neeson, fell to No. 3 with $9.5 million and a domestic total of $34.6 million.

The Art Directors Guild (ADG) has announced the winners of its 16th Annual Excellence in Production Design Awards for 2011. "Hugo" won in the Period Film category, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2" received the Fantasy Film award, and "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" took home the Contemporary Film trophy. Oh yeah, and the 83rd Oscars won in the Awards, Music, or Game Shows category, and Activision: Call of Duty won the Commercial or Music Videos category.
Winners of the 16th Annual ADG Awards were announced at a black-tie event at the International Ballroom of the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills.

( 2.9 / 219 )"Rango" Wins Big at Annie Awards! "Transformers," "Planet of the Apes" Receive Kudos! Check Out Complete List of Winners! 
Jennifer Yuh Nelson's "Kung Fu Panda 2" dominated the Annie Awards nominations, but the International Animated Film Society decided to give its highest honor -- the Best Animated Feature award -- to Gore Verbinski's "Rango." Both films are from DreamWorks Animation and they still have to duke it out at the upcoming Oscars in the Best Animated Feature Film category.
Besides the Best Animated trophy, "Rango" also collected awards for Best Editing and Writing. But Nelson, the first woman to direct a feature film animation from a major Hollywood production company, won the Directing in a Feature Production award! Yay! The Annie Awards winners were announced yesterday at the UCLA Royce Hall in Los Angeles.
