Sarah Polley's "Away From Her" dominated the Genie Awards! Although the film tied with David Cronenberg's "Eastern Promises" in the number of awards won (7 wins for each), "Away From Her" won the big prize -- Best Picture!
The Genie is Canada's answer to the Oscars!
"Away From Her" also dominated the acting categories, as Gordon Pinsent won for best actor, Julie Christie earned the best actress crown and Kristen Thomson won for supporting actress.
I enjoyed this film, it's a bit depressing, but this Alzheimer's-themed movie is definitely thought provoking! Kudos to young actress Sarah Polley for showcasing her talent as a helmer!

Yes I know, I've been talking about that funky title ever since I heard the film is in development, but I love Sam Raimi, and after a misstep with "Spider-Man" 3, I'm glad he's back doing what he does best -- horror films! And he co-wrote this movie with his brother to boot!
Now, we heard that "Juno" actress, Ellen Page , is stepping down due to scheduling conflicts.
"Drag Me to Hell" is about a supernatural curse, and it seems that Mister Sam is experiencing his own curse in casting this film. But have no fear, we have a replacement!
So who's getting dragged to replace Page? She's an equally competent actress! Read More...

According to Teen Hollywood, Lindsay Lohan wants to star in a biopic of controversial late silent movie star Clara Bow.
Bow, who died in 1965, was regarded by many as America's first sex symbol, but suffered several bouts of mental illness.
And Lohan - who posed as Bow for a magazine photoshoot in 2006 - claims she would be perfect for the role because she can relate to the 1920s starlet.
She says, "I definitely relate to a lot of the things that she went through. Not with her family, but the trials and tribulations of Hollywood, to an extent."
