"DUNE" TO GET YET ANOTHER BIG SCREEN ADAPTATION

Frank Herbert's classic sci-fi novel, "Dune," is set for another date at the movies.

"The Kingdom's" Peter Berg is attached to direct for Paramount Pictures.

A joint winner of the 1966 Hugo Award and the winner of the first Nebula Award for Best Novel, Dune is popularly considered one of the greatest science fiction novels of all time.

David Lynch took a stab at the novel with his 1984 film that's disliked by many Herbert fans. Then in 2000, Sci-Fi Channel produced a miniseries starring William Hurt.

Let's hope that this new version will stick to the vision and tone of the book.

"HORTON" TRAMPLES BOX-OFFICE COMPETITION WITH ITS "WHO"-MONGOUS OPENING!!!

Okay, I love this movie! It inspired me to write a poetic review on print and TV. Heck, it also made me generous and I'm still giving away fantastic prizes courtesy of our friends from Twentieth Century Fox!

People, tall and small, enjoyed this film as well! It opened to a staggering sound of $45.1 million, giving it the best opening so far this year! It also is the biggest opening in recent years for Jim Carrey, who voiced Horton.

The previous weekend's No. 1 movie, the Warner Bros. action yarn "10,000 B.C.," slipped to second place with $16.4 million, raising its 10-day total to $61.2 million.

Summit Entertainment's "Never Back Down," about a troubled youth who finds purpose in the sport of mixed martial arts fighting, opened in third place with $8.6 million.
