What "Watchmen's" Jackie Earle Haley Says About the Freddy Krueger Rumors

Personally? I think it's a great idea for Jackie Earle Haley to channel Freddy Krueger in the planned upcoming remake of "A Nightmare on Elm Street."

Now that Michael Bay and company have found a director, casting the lead role is the next integral part.

But who should play one of the most memorable boogeymen of our generation?

Fans are clamoring loudly for Jackie Earle Haley (he was actually great as Rorschach in "Watchmen," and of course, he stole scenes in "Little Children").

So what does Haley think of the idea? He reveals the following to MTV news:

“You know, I did hear about that just recently...a lot of people have been asking me.”

“I’m curious.”

We're curious too Mister Jackie!

And one more thing, keep in mind that fans lobbied for Haley to star as Rorschach, that became a fruition so we may soon see him as Krueger!

The Plot of "Monopoly" Movie Will Be About...the Economic Crisis!

What's with Hollywood mirroring real-life issues? First, kudos to the film industry for doing so, but "Confessions of a Shopaholic" touched upon the credit crisis, and even "Sex and the City" the sequel will be talking about the financial issues as well.

Do we really need to see our economic problems right on the big screen when all we want is to be entertained? Especially from films that are made for pure entertainment value?

So MTV is exclusively reporting that the upcoming "Monopoly" movie will deal with...the economy. Executive producer Brian Goldner reveals:

"The whole world is about the financial markets,” Goldner told MTV News. “You can’t turn on the news today without understanding the financial markets and what’s going on out there.”

But I guess when the film is going to be about owning homes and properties, our economic crisis will be a big issue.

And with visionary director Ridley Scott on the helm, you know he's going to turn this into a reality-based film.

“I have to direct it,” Scott says. “We’re in progress right now. We’re having it written. We have identified a pretty good story and it is fundamentally a movie, not a game, probably describing in a way the characters in the film, the passion of the game, and how the game came about.”

So Scott and company...pass, go, and collect!

"Beverly Hills Chihuahua" Movie Review

Also out on DVD, "I've Loved You So Long" with the great Kristin Scott Thomas. I think the actress was severely overlooked by the Academy.

And if you're in the mood for another "Ace Ventura" movie, then check out, "Ace Ventura Jr:Pet Detective." The title pretty much says it all.

Who's the Sexiest Cartoon?

Jessica Rabbit from "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" has been voted the sexiest cartoon from a survey carried out by Cadbury Dairy Milk.

37% of voters found Miss Rabbit irresistible, while Betty Boop was the second sexiest with 21%. The Cadbury Dairy Milk Caramel Bunny came in third with 10%.

The three alluring characters fend off stiff competition from Cinderella, Wilma Flinstone, Snow White, and Daphne from "Scooby Doo."

So why initiate a creepy survey about the sexiest cartoon?

Well, Cadbury is celebrating the return of their own bunny to billboard and magazine advertisements. Oh, I see.

Some interesting tidbits:

*** 1,000 people were asked
*** 28% said body shape is the most alluring quality, while others said enticing eyes and a memorable voice
*** Jessica Rabbit's red dress was voted the most recognizable clothing while Snow White's yellow and blue dress came in second

Clothing, eyes, body-shape of a cartoon character? Like I said, it's kind of creepy :happy

Should Tom Selleck Star in the Movie Version of "Magnum P.I.?" The Actor Says Heck Yeah!

So apparently, Tom Selleck has launched a campaign to star in the movie version of "Magnum P.I." because studio bosses have not approached him...yet.

Keep in mind, the original 1980s series was one of the highest-rated shows on TV during its eight year run! But honestly, and I hate to be ageist, isn't the 64-year-old actor a bit old for the part?

Selleck revealed to WENN:

"They haven't called, they haven't written. I keep hearing they're developing one but I don't know whether I'm going to be in it... but they keep doing (fan) polls, and I keep winning them."

Aw...Mister Tom and his glory days :sad
