Will You Watch "Puppetmaster" on 3-D?

I'm the first to admit that I crave these low-budget horror flicks! I'm a child of the 80s and devoured everything from "Friday the 13th" to yes, "Puppetmaster."

To this day, when any of these films are being shown on cable, I have to stop and watch, and I truly admit, even TIVO some of them!

But am I happy with the recent "reboot" all these shocker flicks are getting? Um, not really. Sure, Rob Zombie did a great job with "Halloween" but I love his "Devil's Rejects" better. Why? Because it's original!

Am I happy with the new "Friday the 13th?" Well, I was happy to see Jason Voorhees on the big screen again, but the remake was underwhelming.

So today, in my horror of horrors, I heard that writer/producer Charles Band is planning to give his "Puppetmaster" the reboot treatment! And he's following the "My Bloody Valentine" route and shoot it in 3-D!

Why? Can't Hollywood be original anymore? Specially when it comes to the horror genre? Slapping the "3-D" treatment on any remake doesn't make it brand new!

Oh wait, Joss Whedon is coming up with "Cabin in the Woods," and Sam Raimi has "Drag Me to Hell" coming up.

So there's still hope!

Nick Nolte -- Mixed Martial Arts Fighter/Trainer?

Nick Nolte is set to star in "Warrior" a drama set in the world of mixed martial arts!

The plot sounds like "Karate Kid" with a little "The Wrestler" vibe.

According to Variety, "Nolte plays an ex-Vietnam vet boxer-turned-steel mill worker whose family was torn apart by his alcoholism; the now-sober and remorseful dad welcomes back his youngest son and trains him to compete in a mixed martial arts tournament. He and his older brother are on a collision course in the ring."

Hhhhmmm, sounds intriguing! This whole redemption-thing-on-the-ring worked for Mickey Rourke, maybe Nolte will be crowned the comeback kid this year!

Production for "Warrior" is set to begin in April in Pittsburgh.

Is "Little Fockers" Getting the "Role Models" Treatment? Director David Wain in Talks for the Film!

I can never say it enough, but "Role Models" is my favorite comedy of 2008 -- better than "Tropic Thunder" or "Pineapple Express" in my humble opinion.

So it's heartwarming to know that "Role Models" director, David Wain is in talks to helm "Little Fockers."

"Little Fockers" is the three-quel of sorts in the "Meet the Parents" franchise. The script is being written by John Hamburg ("Along Came Polly," the upcoming "I Love You, Man"). Ben Stiller, Robert DeNiro and Owen Wilson are in talks to return, but the director of the first two films, Jay Roach, is going buh-bye.

But have no fear "Fockers" fans, Wain will do a great job with the third installment IF negotiations are finalized and inked!

So, our friends at MTV sat down with the director, and this is what he had to say:

“I read that,” he said. “Yeah! I read that I think on the MTV Movies Blog.”

“No comment. Let’s keep it mysterious.”

What, you can’t give me anything? I thought we were boys…

“I’m offering you a very cool hip mysterious no comment.”

But you’re in the running, right? Wink, wink…

“Discussions are being had.”

And more discussions about this film still to come!

Thank the Lord! "Fantastic Four" is Getting a Reboot!

I've always thought that deep inside the first two "Fantastic Four" movies lie a really great franchise! But that just became wishful thinking after watching the sequel.

Director Tim Story just doesn't have enough comic-book wherewithal to fully realize "Fantastic Four's" potential!

So I jumped for joy upon hearing that 20th Century Fox is gearing up for a reboot, a whole new re-visualization of "Fantastic Four."

Our comrades at IESB are exclusively reporting that "the franchise is looking to be 'less bubble gum' this time round following the 'Iron Man' template, which was a complete success in reviews and box office take but a bit darker when it came to its superhero."

A darker, funnier, twisted take on "Fantastic Four." Flame On! No pun intended :happy

Which is why after the prince was tricked by a dying Vizier to unleash the Sands of Time that turns out to destroy a kingdom and transforms its populace into ferocious demons. In his effort to save his own kingdom and redeem his fatal mistake, it's up to the prince and the princess to return the sands to the hourglass by using the Dagger of Time, which also gives him a limited control over the flow of time.
