Pennywise to Terrorize Movie Theaters Near You! The New "IT" Big Screen Adaptation!

Are you excited as I am to see a new film based on the Stephen King Novel "It?" I enjoyed the 1990 ABC TV miniseries, it's like a pop culture touchstone of my younger years.

So now, I heard that Warner Bros. is doing "It," and they've hired Dave Kajganich to write the screenplay. Kajganich is also writing "Escape from New York" and he is also the scribe of the upcoming Joel Schumacher film, "Creek."

The one not-too-shining moment in Kajganich's resume? Well, he also wrote the 2007 craptacular "The Invasion" starring Nicole Kidman.

So hopefully, Kajganich will be able to intelligently adapt the story of seven children fighting the demon of their childhood, Pennywise!

No word yet on who's going to play the sinister clown.

"Journey to the Center of the Earth" the Sequel!

I was a bit lukewarm with "Journey to the Center of the Earth," and the Brendan Fraser-starrer didn't exactly shatter box-office records, so I was surprised to hear that New Line is planning a sequel!

The film is based on a script by Richard Outten called "Mysterious Travels: The Lost Map of Treasure Island." Apparently, Prof. Trevor Anderson (Fraser) and his nephew Sean (Josh Hutcherson) embark on a journey to...treasure island! This island is a one-for-all! It's the subject of three classic novels namely Jules Verne's "Mysterious Island," Robert Louis Stevenson's "Treasure Island" and Jonathan Swift's "Gulliver's Travels."

The director of the first film, Eric Brewig, is working with Outten on the script, although he hasn't committed yet. Fraser and Hutcherson have not said yes to the sequel either, so stay tuned...

My Fun One-on-One Interviews with Cast, Director of Disney's "Race to Witch Mountain!" Do They Believe in UFO? Oh, and the Director is from Roswell, New Mexico! HA!

I had a blast talking to the cast and director of "Race to Witch Mountain." You can feel the love! :happy

And it helps that I genuinely enjoyed the movie! Read my review here, and later, I'll post my video review shot in Las Vegas!

For now, let's talk about the interviews. First, the lovely and talented Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson! We talked about his role as Jack Bruno, his involvement with the movie, and yikes, he saw an alien, but is it for real?

Then, we have the two kids, well, teens, AnnaSophia Robb (Sara) and Alexander Ludwig (Seth). They seemed to have enjoyed making the movie, and they're such sweethearts! Oh, they called me, "awesome!" Self-congratulations not included. :happy

Plus, fresh from her success as Sally Jupiter/Silk Spectre I in "Watchmen," the super sweet Carla Gugino is stepping into another possible blockbuster with "Race to Witch Mountain."

We talked about her role as Dr. Alex Friedman, the astrophysicist. Gosh, Miss Carla always plays the smart one doesn't she?

And finally, director Andy Fickman revealed some secrets to making "Race to Witch Mountain." He's such a big fan of the original, "Escape to Witch Mountain" and he wants to give fellow-fans a heartwarming homage, that he cast the original leads Kim Richards (Tia) and Iake Eisenmann (Tony), by the way, their names in the remake are also Kim and Anthony he-he-he...

Fickman is an adorable human-being! AND THANKS FOR THE HOMAGE! THIS FAN IS LOVING IT!

Oh, and did you know that Fickman was born in Roswell, New Mexico? Creepy huh?

"Race to Witch Mountain" opens Friday, March 13th, so watch it or else! :happy

Mickey, Scarlett, and "Iron Man 2!" And When Can You See "Spider-Man 4?" Marvel at this Super Marvel Update!

After low-balling Mickey Rourke for a mere $250,000, Marvel, apparently, saw the error in their ways, and showed the actor money!

Rourke, reportedly signed on for "Iron Man 2" after he received significant amount of cash!

But wait there's more! According to our lovely and amazing friend Nikki Finke, "Sony was considering hiring Mickey to play the villain in Spider-Man 4."

Oh, and yeah, Rourke is going to play the role of the Russian villain Crimson Dynamo, but I'm wondering if he's going to star as the first incarnation of the baddie, Professor Anton Vanko? Hhhhmmmm....

The actor is supposed to be in Russia promoting "The Wrestler" and doing research for his upcoming role.

**********************************************************************************************************************************************

And then, the one that really got low-balled? Scarlett Johannson! Thanks to Miss Nikki again, Johannson apparently screen-tested for the role of Black Widow, but didn't get it!

The role was offered to Emily Blunt, but the Brit will be busy working on FOX's "Gulliver's Travels" so...

Johannson is now Black Widow, and is getting paid...um...really low!

Oh, and ignore this schedule we posted last year, Marvel changed their opening dates, and issued a press release about it!

New York, New York – March 12, 2009 – Paving the way for the production and release of its multi-character superhero film, THE AVENGERS, Marvel Entertainment, Inc. , announced today an adjusted release pipeline for its self-produced feature film properties that reflects the first time individual Super Hero characters and story arcs will be inter-woven and culminate in a multi-character motion picture. Separately, Marvel Studios confirmed today that Sony Pictures Entertainment will release SPIDER-MAN 4 on May 6, 2011. Additionally, Marvel Studios has revised the release dates for THOR and CAPTAIN AMERICA as part of its release strategy for an uninterrupted road to THE AVENGERS, now debuting May 4, 2012.

A Marvel character-based film will now launch the summer box office season for three years in a row, from 2010 through 2012.

“This new schedule strongly sequences Marvel’s movie debut dates, big screen character introductions and momentum. It maximizes the visibility of our single character-focused films, leading to the highly anticipated release of the multi-character THE AVENGERS film in 2012,” said David Maisel, Chairman, Marvel Studios.

Sony Pictures’ and Marvel Studios’ SPIDER-MAN 4 is slated for May 6, 2011. To date, all three motion pictures in the phenomenally successful SPIDER-MAN franchise have generated nearly $2.5 billion worldwide theatrically.

Below is Marvel Studios’ 2010-2012 updated release schedule for its slate of self-produced and financed feature films:

Marvel Studios Feature Film Pipeline

CAPTAIN AMERICA: formerly May 6, 2011, now July 22, 2011
