Twihards! Are You Ready to Meet Your Favorite "Twilight" Star?

As we reported two weeks ago, "Twilight" is creating a major stir once again (did that "major stir" ever go away?) because of the sequel plans AND the DVD of the first film comes out tonight starting at 10pm.

Here's what we said:

On March 20th, from 10pm until midnight, "Twilight" fans will get the chance to splurge and yes, celebrate, the midnight DVD release of the film.

"Twilight at Midnight" will allow participating stores to earn money, and for fans to help the sagging economy as they purchase the DVD of the film.

The official "Twilight" website,, even has a store locator for fans to know which stores will be holding midnight parties!

So "Twilight" fans, start saving money, and get ready to party with your fellow twi-hards!

Now, I'm hearing that there will be special guests tonight!

TWILIGHT talent and filmmakers will be making surprise appearances in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Dallas and Salt Lake City.

So if you live in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Dallas, and Salt Lake City, prepare to meet your "Twilight" star/s!

I'm wondering if Edward (Robert Pattinson) and Bella (Kristen Stewart) are going to be there, or if director Catherine Hardwicke will make an appearance!

I guess I have to start falling in line now...

Seth Rogen, You Bad Boy! Why Don't You Call Poor Lindsay Lohan? She Needs to Work!

So, apparently, there's a new Sean Penn movie that Lindsay Lohan wants to be involved with. BUT, Penn wants Seth Rogen to finalize the deal!

So Lohan has been frantically calling Rogen to get in touch! But the comedian, so far, has been ignoring BOTH Lohan and Penn!

Lohan tells Nylon magazine, "I'm talking to a lot of people right now. One is Sean Penn - I spoke to him again the other day. We're trying to get Seth Rogen for this project, but Seth won't call us back. So call us back, Seth, if you're reading this!"

Look, I've always thought that Lohan is a good actress (except for the super-crappy "I Know Who Killed Me" aka "I Know What Killed My Career"), so Seth, give her a chance!

As far as this supposed-Sean Penn film, could it be "The Three Stooges" where the actor is rumored to star as Larry Fine? But there's also another rumor involving the movie that Johnny Depp is going to co-star as Moe Howard! So Rogen may be playing Curly?

It's perfect casting don't you think?

What about Lohan? What is she going to play in the film?

The only report that's not a rumor is that the Farrely Brothers ("There's Something About Mary") are writing and directing the film!

The current queens of Hollywood, Meryl Streep and Dame Helen Mirren, are the latest to express their sadness at Natasha Richardson's death.

Mirren says, "Natasha was a great actress, a fantastic mother, a loving wife and a whirlwind of energy, with an infectious love of life expressed firstly by her wonderful deep laugh.

"Anyone who knew her will be in mourning today. I hope that Liam and her sons are helped in their pain by the great love and sympathy that is coming to them from people all over the world."

Streep adds about the devastating loss, ""Tash (Natasha) was the warm sun in the center of a large constellation of family, friends, all of those lucky enough to know her - she is irreplaceable in our lives; she gave us so much, so generously - her legacy is the love that connects us all."

New Castle Entertainment Hearts Michigan Film Commission! Their Film Incentive Really Works!

I received this press release from New Castle, and I normally don't post these things, but I read Eric Roberts' note about the Michigan film incentives and it was heartwarming.

The actor who starred in two films filmed in Grand Rapids, MI says, "Anything that inspires creativity and artistic expression needs to be expanded."

I couldn't agree more!

So read this love letter from New Castle to the Michigan Film Commission.

Michigan Film Incentives Work As New Castle Gets Paid

(March 20, 2009) Lansing, MI - The Michigan Film Commission confirmed today that New Castle Entertainment is the first company to receive money under their new 42% film incentive program, started in April of last year.

New Castle's film, Intent, was shot and edited exclusively in Michigan. Clint Eastwood also made his way to Michigan to shoot Gran Torino, in addition to many of Hollywood's elite. Under the incentive program, a total of 36 films were shot in Michigan in 2008.

“I think the program is outstanding. Anything that inspires creativity and artistic expression needs to be expanded,” said Eric Roberts, who starred in Intent and the Steam Experiment which filmed in Grand Rapids.

The Michigan hospitality also plays a part in Hollywood's love of the state. “The people here are easy going and very helpful. Everyone went out of their way to make our film a success,” said Intent's Director, Tim Crockett.

Michigan currently offers the most generous film incentives in the country. “The film office and the treasury have both been amazing to work with. They helped us throughout the whole process. We have four more projects on the slate for this year and they're all coming to Michigan,” said T.V. Tran - Managing Partner at New Castle.

The state has hosted everyone from Will Ferrell and Jack Black to Drew Barrymore and Hillary Swank. “We're glad that the program works and excited for what the future holds,” said Janet Lockwood, Michigan Film Commissioner.

"Duplicity" and "I Love You, Man" Movie Reviews! Which One is My PIck of the Week?

It's a very busy weekend at the box-office! It's a 3-way race between "Duplicity," "I Love You, Man," and "Knowing!" The last film, starring Nicolas Cage, is a so-so flick that takes itself waaaay too seriously. Ooooh numbers! Yeah, much like Jim Carrey taking himself waaay too seriously in "The Number 23."

What's up with Hollywood, thrillers, and numbers? When making a thriller involving numbers, is that a sign for filmmakers and principal players to go serious on us?

(By the way, the "numbers" comment is because Cage's character discovers a string of numbers that can predict calamities...tan dan dan)

So, I decided to focus on reviewing the Julia Roberts-Clive Owen tandem "Duplicity" versus the Paul Rudd-Jason Segel team in "I Love You, Man."

Yes, I have one pick of the week! Can you guess which one?
