Steven Spielberg, James Cameron, Jeffrey Katzenberg on the Future of 3-D! The Next Dimension!

I just got back from watching the 3-D animated flick, "Monsters VS. Aliens," and I was amazed by its technical wizardry! So upon getting home, being a movie geek that I am, I researched and found out a great article featuring the current demi-gods of 3-D technology, Jeffrey Katzenberg, James Cameron, and Steven Spielberg.

It's from TIME, and it's interesting to point out that "Titanic" is being re-cut in digital 3-D! And the technology becomes more impressive, when the trio starts explaining its intricacies.

Here's an excerpt:

The lights dim in the screening room. Suddenly, the doomed Titanic fills the screen--but not the way I remember in the movie. The luxury liner is nearly vertical, starting its slide into the black Atlantic, and Leonardo DiCaprio is hanging on for life, just like always. But this time, I am too. The camera pans to the icy water far below, pulling me into the scene--the sensation reminds me of jerking awake from a dream--and I grip the sides of my seat to keep from falling into the drink.

"Lost" Angelina Jolie Flick Unearthed! Daddy Jon Voight Releases Director's Cut!

27 years later, Angelina Jolie's first movie role is getting a big-screen debut!

The film, co-written by Jolie's dad, Jon Voight, is called "Lookin' to Get Out" and is directed by Hal Ashby ("Shampoo" and "Being There"). Voight also co-stars in the film as Alex Kovac.

Jolie was just an itsy-bitsy 4-year old when she appeared in the film. And apparently, her part was cut. Now, her daddy's re-releasing the film after finding out that Ashby re-cut the movie before his death in 1988.

"Lookin' to Get Out" will debut at the Sarasota Film Festival in April, or you can wait for the DVD release on June 20th.

A Great "Green" Reason to Watch Disneynature's Upcoming Film "Earth"

Here's the gist -- Disneynature is going to plant a tree for every person who sees the film "Earth" in the first week!

Isn't that great? More reason to watch this insightful flick!

By the way, the movie opens on Earth Day, April 22!

Here's the press release:

Burbank, CA (March 19, 2009) – Disneynature, the first new film label to be introduced by Disney in 60 years, will celebrate its premiere film, “EARTH,” being released nationally on April 22, Earth Day, by planting a tree in honor of every moviegoer who sees the film in its opening week.

"’EARTH’ is a spectacular film from the world's most acclaimed nature filmmakers, and we couldn't think of a better way to launch the new Disneynature banner, and to celebrate the spirit of the film and Earth Day at the same time," said Dick Cook, chairman of The Walt Disney Studios. "The film gives moviegoers an entertaining and unprecedented view of our planet, with some of the most astonishing imagery and exciting natural drama ever presented on the big screen.”

Jean-François Camilleri, executive vice president and general manger of Disneynature, said: “The public is looking for films like ‘EARTH’ that are entertaining, educational, show nature’s beauty and are environmentally conscious. What better way to celebrate the opening of this epic film than by planting trees on behalf of our moviegoers!”

Disney's goal is to ensure that it plants trees in areas that conservationists have identified as important hot spots of biodiversity. Disney will oversee the planting of the trees in the BrazilianAtlanticForest, which is considered the most endangered rain forest in the world. Today, only 7 percent of the AtlanticForest remains. Disney is committed to ensuring the trees are planted and cared for to provide the greatest long term benefit for the planet.

Narrated by James Earl Jones, “EARTH” tells the remarkable story of three animal families and their amazing journeys across the planet we call home. “EARTH” combines rare action, unimaginable scale and impossible locations by capturing the most intimate moments of our planet’s wildest and most elusive creatures. Directors Alastair Fothergill and Mark Linfield, the acclaimed creative team behind the Emmy Award®-winning “Planet Earth,” combine forces again to bring this epic adventure to the big screen.

Tickets are now on sale for opening weekend. Tickets are available through the film’s website at and via phone at 1-888-DISNEY6.

Twihards! Are You Ready to Meet Your Favorite "Twilight" Star?

As we reported two weeks ago, "Twilight" is creating a major stir once again (did that "major stir" ever go away?) because of the sequel plans AND the DVD of the first film comes out tonight starting at 10pm.

Here's what we said:

On March 20th, from 10pm until midnight, "Twilight" fans will get the chance to splurge and yes, celebrate, the midnight DVD release of the film.

"Twilight at Midnight" will allow participating stores to earn money, and for fans to help the sagging economy as they purchase the DVD of the film.

The official "Twilight" website,, even has a store locator for fans to know which stores will be holding midnight parties!

So "Twilight" fans, start saving money, and get ready to party with your fellow twi-hards!

Now, I'm hearing that there will be special guests tonight!

TWILIGHT talent and filmmakers will be making surprise appearances in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Dallas and Salt Lake City.

So if you live in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Dallas, and Salt Lake City, prepare to meet your "Twilight" star/s!

I'm wondering if Edward (Robert Pattinson) and Bella (Kristen Stewart) are going to be there, or if director Catherine Hardwicke will make an appearance!

I guess I have to start falling in line now...

Seth Rogen, You Bad Boy! Why Don't You Call Poor Lindsay Lohan? She Needs to Work!

So, apparently, there's a new Sean Penn movie that Lindsay Lohan wants to be involved with. BUT, Penn wants Seth Rogen to finalize the deal!

So Lohan has been frantically calling Rogen to get in touch! But the comedian, so far, has been ignoring BOTH Lohan and Penn!

Lohan tells Nylon magazine, "I'm talking to a lot of people right now. One is Sean Penn - I spoke to him again the other day. We're trying to get Seth Rogen for this project, but Seth won't call us back. So call us back, Seth, if you're reading this!"

Look, I've always thought that Lohan is a good actress (except for the super-crappy "I Know Who Killed Me" aka "I Know What Killed My Career"), so Seth, give her a chance!

As far as this supposed-Sean Penn film, could it be "The Three Stooges" where the actor is rumored to star as Larry Fine? But there's also another rumor involving the movie that Johnny Depp is going to co-star as Moe Howard! So Rogen may be playing Curly?

It's perfect casting don't you think?

What about Lohan? What is she going to play in the film?

The only report that's not a rumor is that the Farrely Brothers ("There's Something About Mary") are writing and directing the film!
