Why didn't I think of this before? I can totally see Anne Hathaway as Judy Garland!
As we reported last month, the Weinstein Co. is set to turn the life of tragic icon Judy Garland into a major Hollywood motion picture!
But wait there's more! Hathaway will also star on stage as Garland! The studio is also producing a stage version of the book by Gerald Clarke called "Get Happy."
Harvey Weinstein was heard saying:
"Hathaway will be a true class act in this challenging role" and Clarke's book is a great resource because it "is particularly outstanding because of its exlusive details from her own writings."

Zac Efron bowed out of the Paramount remake of "Footloose" because he says he's on a path of acting legitimacy and doesn't want to be associated with another song and dance film.
Everyone behind the production were all shocked, since they've been working on it since last July!
Apparently, Efron used the latest script revision as his parachute to say, adios! He probably didn't like the new script? Or he just used it as an out!
The Wrap is reporting:
The teen-throb star of Disney’s first three “High School Musical” films, has pulled out of Paramount’s planned remake of “Footloose,” in an apparent effort to stretch his career beyond fame as just a cute song-and-dance man.
Efron told the studio last week that he did not want to do another musical at this point in his career, according to a senior member of the production team.

As we reported here last week, Lindsay Lohan revealed to Nylon Magazine that Seth Rogen ignored her and Sean Penn's repeated requests to call them.
It's supposed to be for a new movie that Penn is working on that he wanted Rogen to star in.
Well, Moviefone interviewed Rogen, and this is what he had to say about that:
That is not ... That's the first I had heard of that. And my assistant hadn't heard it either. I can tell you that she hasn't called me. If she has, I haven't heard about it. [But] I would call her back, sure! I'd return a call.
So Lindsay, wait for Rogen's call!

Joel and Ethan Coen will adapt "True Grit."
The Coens will stay faithful to the book by Charles Portis rather than the 1969 western that won John Wayne an Oscar!
In the film, it was told from the point of view of Wayne's character, but in the Coen brothers adaptation, it will be told from a 14-year old girl's p.o.v.
The novel is about a girl who's helped by an aging U.S. marshal and another lawman to track her father's killer.
The Coens just finished "A Serious Man" and will be working on "True Grit" before helming "The Yiddish Policemen's Union" for Columbia.
