We may see this image again! Baz Luhrmann ("Australia," "Moulin Rouge") directed Beyonce Knowles and Hugh Jackman for a medley of showtunes at the Oscars, and now, he wants to put the singing and dancing pair on the big screen!
Luhrmann tells Vogue Magazine:
"One can only pray. My mind is racing already... I'm sure that there is a dramatic cinematic life for her. It's been a long time since we've seen that kind of performer, like Barbra Streisand and Diana Ross, on the screen."
And Jackman reveals:
"Just watching how she processes everything, she's so fast... I just found myself going, 'Oh, my God, I want to do movies with this girl. I want to do a movie musical!'"
Jackman further gushes:
"I have no doubt she'll win an Oscar one day. I can see the ambition in her to want to do that, to be in movies and really knock something out of the park. She's got it. Whatever it is, she's got it."

As we reported last year, Peter Morgan, the genius screenwriter behind "The Queen" and "Frost/Nixon" is getting ready to direct!
His film of choice?
Another movie about British Prime Minister Tony Blair!
Morgan has been working on a trilogy about Blair beginning in 2003 with the Stephen Frears' directed TV movie called "The Deal," followed by the fantastic "The Queen."
The third flick will be called "The Special Relationship" and will once again star the great Michael Sheen as Blair.
Dennis Quaid will star as Bill Clinton.
And Julianne Moore will play Hillary Clinton.
"The Special Relationship" is going to be produced by HBO but here's the caveat. It's not greenlit yet! Hhhhmmmmm...perhaps money is the issue? Apparently, HBO wants to partner with BBC Films.
But with his pedigree, headed by Morgan, how can this film go wrong?

The fantastic comic book author, Mark Millar ("Wanted") was, once upon a time, professing his new vision to reboot "Superman."
But the author's man-of-steel vision was dashed!
On his website, Millar reveals:
Warner's talked to us and a few other writer/ director teams, but things seem to be in stasis right now. As far as I understand, nothing is happening with Superman at the moment and so the director and I are just working on another project. If it happens, great. If it doesn't, no biggie.
Kick-Ass taught me that creating your own stuff can be at least as much fun and you don't have to answer to anyone. It's the future, baby.
This is kinda sad, since I was hoping to see Millar's plans for "Superman" translate on the big screen! But I love how he says, "creating your own stuff can be at least as much fun."
Because, it is!

Universal Pictures is developing yet another toy-based film. This time, it's a Mattel action figure called "Major Matt Mason" and Tom Hanks is in talks to star. "Speed" writer Graham Yost is writing the script, and Hanks' Playtone is set to produce.
My big question: Why create a film version of a toy line that originated in 1966! Mattel retired the line in the 1970s, and many folks are not familiar with the product.
The plot will have Mason and his team of astronauts work on the moon and live in a space station. Hence, Hanks' involvement. The actor has worked in various space-related projects such as "Apollo 13" and the HBO mini-series "From the Earth to the Moon."
"Major Matt Mason" joins Universal's long list of toy-based film projects such as "Stretch Armstrong," "Monoploy," "Candyland," and "Ouija."
