"Alice in Wonderland" Remains on Top for Third Weekend!

Tim Burton and Johnny Depp are unstoppable! Their latest collaboration, "Alice in Wonderland," took in $34.5 million to maintain its No. 1 position for a third-straight weekend.

So far, the film has raised its domestic total to $265.8 million, and worldwide to $565.8 million after just three weekends y'all!

Meanwhile, "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" debuted at No. 2 with $21.8 million and "The Bounty Hunter" starring Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler opened at No. 3 with $21 million.

But the Jude Law and Forest Whitaker starrer, "Repo Men," was deemed a flop with an opening of $6.2 million. The action thriller debuted at No. 4.

But the good box-office news belonged to Ben Stiller and his comic drama "Greenberg." Premiering in limited release, the film took in $120,432 in just three theaters for an astounding average of $40,144 a cinema. (I will be posting my review of the film, plus my interviews with the cast including Stiller)

César Chávez -- the Movie!

Renowned civil rights activist and labor organizer, César Chávez, is soon getting the Hollywood treatment. According to The Hollywood Reporter, screenwriter Keir Pearson and Larry Meli have optioned the life rights of Chávez.

Pearson (Oscar-nominated for "Hotel Rwanda") will be writing the feature screenplay, and will be producing with Meli for Canana Films -- the shingle from Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna.

No word yet on the cast, but who should play César Chávez?

"A Wrinkle in Time" to Travel to the Big Screen!

Screenwriter Jeff Stockwell has been hired by Cary Granat and his Bedrock Studios to adapt "A Wrinkle in Time," the time-travel extravaganza from author Madeleine L'Engle.

Granat, who previously worked with Disney in the "Chronicles of Narnia" movies and "Bridge to Terabithia," is developing "Wrinkle in Time" for the studio, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

L’Engle’s 1962 Newbery Medal-winning science fiction novel features teenage protagonist Meg Murry, her whiz brother Charles Wallace, and classmate Calvin O'Keefe and their intergalactic mission to rescue Meg's missing scientist father. They are helped along the way by Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who, and Mrs. Which -- I bet you, these characters will be memorable in the film version.

Stockwell previously co-wrote the adaptation of "The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys," and "Bridge to Terabithia" for Disney.

"Repo Men" Movie Review -- How Many Kisses Do Jude Law and Forest Whitaker Get?

My movie review of "Repo Men," the new sci-fi dystopian thriller from Universal Pictures starring Jude Law, Forest Whitaker, and Liev Schreiber from first-time feature film director Miguel Sapochnik. Is the film worth your $10? Check out what I think of "Repo Men" below. Oh, and contrary to popular belief, this is not an update of the 1984 Emilio Estevez starrer "Repo Man," this one's based on Emilio Garcia's novel The Repossession Mambo.

Here's more info on "Repo Men" from Yahoo:

Remy is one of the best organ repo men in the business.
