Tom Hardy, who I absolutely admired in "Warrior" and will next be seen as Bane in "The Dark Knight Rises," is attached to star in an untitled outlaw biker for Warner Bros. according to THR.
It's a role fit for Hardy right?
The actor seemed to agree because he's also producing the project via his own shingle Executive Options. Art Linson and son, John, are co-producing with Hardy. Apparently, the younger Linson is an avid biker and he came up with the story of a "wounded Vietnem vet who returns home to San Francisco just in time to see the flower power hippie movement at it strongest, with anti-war protests hitting university campuses and streets. In that environment, he is reborn as the head of a violent biker gang."
Ooooh, Hardy is a wild one!

This actually sounds funny, and perhaps the first Nicholas Cage-connected movie that I'm excited about in a looooong time!
Previously on Nicholas Cage's comic book caper: In 2000, a group of nerds planned to steal the actor's prized possession -- a copy of Action Comics No. 1 which introduced us to Superman aka Man of Steel.
Then in 2011, the missing comic book was discovered in an abandoned storage locker. Voila, it sold for a record $2.1 million at an auction last November.
Now, THR has told us that Lionsgate is turning this comic book heist into a comedy with "Reno 911" creators/writers Robert Ben Garant and Thomas Lennon. They will also be producing along with Peter Principato and Paul Young.
The big question -- will Cage appear? Will he be game to poke fun at himself and his inner nerd? I think he should! He hasn't done a seemingly smart movie in quite a while.
And sure, Jason Statham's name has popped up in connection with this project but really, he is no Cage!

"Halloween 3D" is dead...at least for now.
Dimension Films has announced that "Halloween 3D" will not be ready in time for its planned Oct. 26 release, so it's been hacked and slashed away from the calendar.
Writer/director Patrick Lussier and writer Todd Farmer, the folks who gave us 2009's "My Bloody Valentine" and 2011's "Drive Angry" have been working on "Halloween 3D" but just couldn't make it on time.
Why? Is it really too hard to revive Michael Myers and make him kill a bunch of people in 3D? Kill, cue in the famous "Halloween" music, kill some more, rinse, lather, repeat...right?
But alas, you won't see "Halloween 3D" this Halloween.
So more "Paranormal Activity 4" for you!

The highly anticipated "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -- Part 2" from Summit Entertainment will debut a teaser trailer in theaters with an equally highly anticipated movie, Lionsgate's "The Hunger Games" on March 23rd.
Since Lionsgate acquired Summit, all things Bella are now all things Katniss too!
I didn't like Part 1 that much, so the final chapter must be good or I'll burn all my "Twilight" DVDs and books -- and they're first edition, first printing!
"The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -- Part 2" will be released on November 16, my mommy's birthday! Bill Condon directed both the first and second parts of the "Breaking Dawn" movies starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner.

And we thought we won't be able to see this picture much less the movie. Troubled by rumored escalating costs ($250 million and counting supposedly), Walt Disney Pictures had second thoughts about making the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced, Gore Verbinski-directed, Johnny Depp-starred "The Lone Ranger." And why not? The House of Mouse is also fighting over-budget rumors, also $250 million and counting, for the upcoming "John Carter."
But now, we received from Disney this newly released first look for "The Lone Ranger!" Depp plays Tonto, a spirit warrior on a personal quest; Armie Hammer stars as John Reid, a lawman who has become a masked avenger. Together, the two fights for truth, justice, and the cowboys and indians way.
Don't you just love how Depp is channeling Pocahontas? HA!
"The Lone Ranger" will hi-ho silver away to theaters in May 2013.
