Two big films for you this weekend! First, we have “Chappie” from “District 9” writer/director Neill Blomkamp. This one’s about artificial intelligence and it stars Hugh Jackman, Dev Patel, and Sigourney Weaver. Sharlto Copley voices Chappie and even Anderson Cooper stars as…himself! Is this better than the last Blomkamp movie, the half-baked “Elysium?” And is this worthy of praise ala “District 9?”

And then, we have “The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.” The whole gang, including director John Madden, return for the sequel. But, do we really need another “Best Exotic Marigold Hotel?” This one stars Patel as well where he plays Sonny and this time, he wants to open another Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. Is this as good as the first one?

See my thoughts on the new “Chappie” and “The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.”

Movie About World's First Transgender Woman Starring Eddie Redmayne Gets Release Date

Isn't she gorgeous? :happy

Fresh from winning an Oscar for "The Theory of Everything," Eddie Redmayne is set to embody Einar Wegener aka Lili Elbe in "The Danish Girl." All I can say is, Redmayne better prepare for another Academy Award!

Wegener is considered to be the world's first transgender woman who discovered that he might be trapped in a man's body after posing for his wife, fellow artist Gerda, who needed a female model. Alicia Vikander is starring opposite Redmayne.

Focus Features, the home of "The Theory of Everything," will release "The Danish Girl" on Thanksgiving weekend, Nov. 27th.

Redmayne not only reteams with Focus, but he is also back in the great directorial hands of Tom Hooper, the guy who gave us the Oscar-winning "The King's Speech" and "Les Miserables." Redmayne played Marcus in the musical adaptation.

I love Redmayne (very sweet and one of the most down-to-earth people I've ever met), adore Focus Features (most of their films become Oscar winners and I admire their independent spirit), and regard Hooper as a great storyteller.

So yup, Redmayne better make room for another Oscar!

"Focus" Movie Review -- How Many Kisses do Will Smith and Margot Robbie Get?

Will Smith returns to the big screen with the crime-drama “Focus” from the “Crazy, Stupid, Love.” folks, Glenn Ficarra and John Requa. Co-starring is the super-hot Margot Robbie as a newbie who wants to learn from Smith’s Nicky, a slick con artist. Is “Focus” worth your time and money? Take a look at my movie review:

So Long Mr. Spock!

The beloved Leonard Nimoy aka Spock of the "Star Trek" series has died. He was 83. According to his wife, Susan Bay Nimoy, the cause was end-stage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

I had a wonderful chance to meet the actor for the "Star Trek" reboot and among all the celebrities I've interviewed, he was the only one who made me nervous. Perhaps because he was an idol of my childhood and he still is to this day.

So long Mr. Spock, may you live long and prosper in heaven!
